Horror Crush: Tawny Moyer

I am so over this damn summer heat. All, I can think of is when it will be fall and most especially about Halloween! So, let's keep this glorious and highly awaited time in mind, by inducting a beauty into Horror Crushes that is connected to that great season. And, that stunner is blonde babe Tawny Moyer!

Tawny Moyer was born on March 30, 1957 in San Diego, California. She began acting in 1978 but only acted in one horror flick (which keeps the trend going from our two previous inductees: Sara Melson and Almanta Suska). Anyway, that movie is Halloween II, one of the most popular and beloved entries (especially by fans) in one the genre's biggest franchises!

Taking place right after the masterful original, this one has unstoppable killer Michael Myers (Dick Warlock) following final girl Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) to the hospital. He wants to kill her and finish what he started in the last movie. All in his way are soon to permanently go away. Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence), meanwhile, is determined to stop him for good. We also learn that Laurie is Michael's sister, a storyline that would continue and be accepted as canon until the shitty last trilogy threw it all away.

Halloween II has aged wonderfully. It has actually gotten better with the passing of time and viewings. This is especially true in light of that aforementioned wretched trilogy (but hey we did get an inductee into Horror Crushes in the form of Virgina Gardner so there is that). Sure the movie suffers from the limitations of the slasher flick (including some dumb characters) especially within a studio franchise and this time period. Add to that stupid jump scares (though one involving Michael, a pretty brunette, and a butcher knife does work quite well) and a mostly useless Laurie, as faults of the flick. But, it is also really well shot, has some mean spirited and violent kills, an absolute killer climax, and Loomis fucking rules.

Another plus is that the movie has its fair share of hotties in the cast. And, we even get a very memorable topless scene from one of them (Pamela Susan Shoop). But, even if she doesn't get nude, my favorite was always Moyer. I've had a crush on her ever since I first saw this flick, as a little kid on TV. Her blonde hair, blue eyes, and natural good looks immediately caught the attention of my young brain and heart. Her character of nurse Jill isn't given a lot to do, but she remains likable throughout the flick's duration. So much so, that I always feel bad when her character gets killed by Michael via scalpel to her back and gets dramatically lifted as she gasps in pain.

Mickey gives the WORST back scratches!

Moyer's last acting gig was in 2001. and she retired from the movie biz soon after. But, she played a memorable role in one of the best entries in a popular franchise. So, with a solid performance and striking beauty lighting up Halloween II, I happily induct Tawny Moyer into this site's Horror Crushes! Are you fellow fan of hers? Let me know in the comments section below!

Toy Fair 2020- NECA Toys- Horror Edition, Part 1

First off, sorry for the delay on posting anything Toy Fair 2020 related. While, it took place between February 22-25 (at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC), I had an accident and cut my middle finger, on my right hand, at the beginning of this month, making it difficult to write and edit pics. I am almost fully healed now, and ready to get back into the swing of things.

With that being said, let's start with what is always one of my favorite booths at the yearly event: NECA! As always, I love their horror action figures, so let's just dig right in!

There are two new Godzilla figures coming out. One based on Godzilla Vs. Biollante, the other on his look from Godzilla: Tokyo SOS.

We are also getting two clothed figures, Chief Brody and Quint, based on the classic Jaws! The likenesses of these two are on point!

On top of that, we are also getting clothed figures from Hatchet, Halloween, They Live, and Scream as well!

They will also continue with their fun Toon Terrors line. The figures will include characters from Beetlejuice, Hatchet (I never thought we would be getting a figure much less two from this franchise!), Trick R' Treat, and The Exorcist. Speaking of which. this Regan, with interchangeable puking head, fucking rules!

Let's end this part with this creepy and cool Annabelle figure!

Mezco Toyz, Toy Fair 2019: Marvel, Horror, & "The Warriors"!

As always Mezco Toyz had some amazing toys on display at Toy Fair 2019. With comic books, horror, and The Warriors (above) on display, is there any wonder why I love their product so much? The following are just some of my personal favorite upcoming and currently available figures from them.

Marvel:

I actually just saw "Captain Marvel" this past Saturday and quite enjoyed it. Brie Larson is a hottie!

Horror:
This Michael Myers from "Halloween II" is probably my favorite from their entire booth. I will have to get and review, him!

I recently reviewed this Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th Part 3" here.
This King Kong is bigger than the one I reviewed recently!
This Chucky, which has alternate parts for "Child's Play 2" & "3", will be coming in the mail for me. Expect a review shortly after it does!

I don't buy "Living Dead Dolls". but I might need to change that for the Sabrina from "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina". She is AWESOME!

Horror Action Figures from NECA at Toy Fair 2019, Part 2: Lots of Terror and a little Metal!

Let's jump right into the second half of my coverage of NECA's upcoming horror action figures. And, for the first half be sure you click here.

I LOVE that NECA is continuing to do toys to genre favorites and classics that one never imagined would get toys, like Clive Barker's Nightbreed, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, and John Carpenter's They Live! While still giving is long time merchandise favorites like Sam from Trick R' Treat.

A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th (especially fans of the later) will have a lot to look forward to. And, speaking of things that you never thought you would see, I am adding the Ultimate Roy figure, AKA Fake Jason from Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. That is probably the one I want the most out of the F13 figures coming out.

And, hey if Freddy and Jason (and Roy) are here, then Michael Myers needs to here, too! And, what better way than with this AMAZING figure based on Halloween II! The alt heads and the jack-o-lantern with skull accessories are everything!

As always there is a MASSIVE amount of Predator and Alien toys coming or already out.

The title of this post promised you a little bit of metal, so here ya go! From the Big Four, we get Scott Ian of Anthrax and Megadeth's mascot Vic Rattlehead! I mean, there is no better way to end this than with some fucking thrash metal!!
