Horror Crush: Jennifer Rubin

On this final day of Women in Horror Month, I wanna talk about one of my absolute biggest crushes growing up: the impossibly beautiful Jennifer Rubin!
Jennifer Collene Rubin was born in Phoenix, AZ on April 3, 1962. Her very first role was in A Nightmare on Elm Street pt 3: The Dream Warriors. It is easily her most famous and beloved one. She plays one of the last of the "Elm Street kids" which consist of a group of suicidal teens at an institution. She's Taryn White, a former junkie. When returning, from the first film, Nancy Thompson (Heather Langenkamp) tell them that each of them have a dream power, hers is that she is "beautiful and bad!" Dressed in tight leather, with her hair put like a mohawk, and carrying twin swtichblades, she most certainly is just that! Now, I saw Dream Warriors on video tape very young and have loved it ever since. It is easily the best of the Nightmare sequels and possibly the finest slasher sequel, ever. In fact it is one of the best horror sequels, period.
I have loved rocker girls all my life, and when I saw her in this movie, as a kid, I was in total love! Especially when she went punk. God, I think I spent a good fraction of my younger life looking for my own Taryn. I still maybe! I always hate the scene when she dies cause she was a great character (and beautiful, duh), but that's why this movie works (well one of many reason, actually) where other slashers movies fail. You actually care about the fucking characters! What a concept!

The next year she appeared in the underrated Bad Dreams. Her involvement makes it feel like more of A Nightmare rip-off, but it's a good flick. She is great in it, as a former hippie child. And, she looks absolute stunning. If I was in love before, this movie sealed the deal for me. You can read more about my thoughts on it in this link, though one thing has changed since I reviewed it first, I really prefer the original ending to the theatrical one, nowadays: http://www.gorezone.net/dvdcrypt/reviewstxt/abc/baddreams.html

In 1993, she starred in the silly thriller The Crush. This ain't a horror movie, but it was covered in Fango, under, well, the "Not a Horror Film" column! She plays the girlfriend of the dude that Alicia Silverstone obsesses over. She also gets attacked by bees. I saw this movie in the theaters, and thought it was lame. But, I was happy to see my former crush Rubin (who looked stunning, of course!), and my newest crush Silverstone in one movie! Even it if was a crappy one! Oddly, Silverstone would go on to star in far worse movies. Oh well...
She had a small role in the awesome action/ horror hybrid Full Eclipse (starring Mario Van Peebles, the beautiful Patsy Kensit, and another horror crush of mine: Paula Marshall). Then in 1995, she appeared in the crappy Jim Wynorski remake The Wasp Woman. She plays the title character. As always she look and is great, the FX are great, too! The movie, however, is NOT great, at all...
Also from that year is Screamers. This sci-fi/ horror/ "action" hybrid, I saw in the movies. Despite having Rubin looking beautiful and kicking ass, also having Robocop himself, Peter fucking Weller, killer robots, and an awesome and gory beginning, this one sucks. I was so annoyed in the theater watching this. Thank God, then for Rubin's impressive beauty, which helped ease my suffering. Actually, one great thing came of this turd. She was promoting it at a Fangoria Weekend of Horrors, and I met her! She signed for free (remember when people did that cons?), and looked GORGEOUS in person. I swear, I was in love, all over again!
She appeared in other horror movies, too, but I didn't see them. They are: Little Witches, Twists of Terror, and Sanctimony. Any of you ever seen of those? Any thoughts?
Aside from her horror movie appearances she was on genre TV shows, too. They were: The Twilight Zone, Tales from the Crypt, and The Outer Limits.
Jennifer Rubin is, to put it, quite simply, amazing. Beautiful and talented, she is one of my utmost personal favorite Horror Crushes. And, I know many of you feel the way about this stunning blue-eyed goddess.

(Video) Busty, Inked, Beauty Anna Bell Peaks Talks to Us at AVN Expo 2016

On the third day of the Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE), Fri. Jan. 22, 2016, we got to interview Anna Bell Peaks. This was conducted in her room at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (the Expo was held at this hotel/ casino). Beautiful, busty, and inked, Anna Bell is guaranteed to catch your eyes. Her scorching hot performances have certainly caught those of her fans and the industry, deservedly so, might I add. In person, she is very personable and easy going. This interview was a pleasure to conduct, as we talked about how she got into the biz, her porn career so far, her tattoos, and more.

Horror Crush: Isabelle Adjani

In continuing Women in Horror Month, this time on Horror Crushes we have one of the most beautiful women to ever grace film, in general: the flawlessly stunning French actress Isabelle Adjani.
Isabelle was born on June 27, 1955 in Paris, France to a Bavarian mother and Algerian father. She began acting at age 14 in 1970. She wouldn't appear in her first horror film till Wernor Herzog's critically acclaimed remake of silent classic Nosferatu. She played Lucy in said film. I am embarrassed to say I never saw it. But, even without having seen it, I can tell you that that is excellent casting!

Sadly, I didn't see her following horror movie, Tenement (1976), either. Directed by Roman Polanksi, it's another critical hit. I been meaning to see it for ages, but alas have yet to do so. But, I can say that she wears glasses in it and looks extra hot in them, I think.

Her next horror flick is 1981's French/ German flick Possession from the recently late/ great director Andrzej Zulawski. The movie was controversial and got on the infamous British Video Nasties list. It's not for everyone, but those with an open mind will find a fascinating and original movie; one that wonderfully mixes the arthouse drama with the splatter horror movie. It tells the tale of a hubby (an excellent Sam Neil, in what maybe my favorite performance of his) and his deteriorating marriage to his gorgeous and slowly unhinging wife (Adjani). She is cheating on him with some spiritual Euro-trash dude name Heinrich (Heinz Bennent). Oh and, she is also getting porked by a monster covered in blood and with cucumber-shaped head. Yup, you read that right.
Adjani is fucking amazing in her role. Both of them, as she also plays the beautiful and sweet teacher of couple's son Bob. There is a scene where she breaks down in a subway and has a slimey and bloody miscarriage. The movie is gory, artistic, and totally existential. It stands as bold and thoroughly different from anything else in the genre being made at the time. I personally think it gets better with viewings, and it's wild and bloody climax and dark ending make sure to leave it all on a high, if somewhat of a downer, note. Carl Rambaldi's make-up FX are also excellent. Getting back to Adjani, she is a special effect all her own, as she is frequently nude and, as I stated before, also screwed by her monster lover, in one shocking scene.

She returned to genre one last time in the often forgotten remake to classic French horror movie, Diabolique. I barely remember anything about it, myself. The only thing that stuck in my mind was that some dude is married to Adjani and cheats on him with Sharon Stone. Both women are goddesses, but honestly, I wish they had appeared together in a better film. Not the worst thing, ever but useless, and like I said easy to forget.
I am a huge fan of hers, and there is no denying that with her fair skin, delicate features, sexy French accent, big, light blue eyes, and gorgeous body, she is true perfection. And, that she is also a great actress to boot, one with a very interesting, if a little short, filmography in the genre.

Finally Meeting the Gorgeous Riley Reid at AVN Expo 2016

For the last couple of years, I have been wanting to meet the beautiful Riley Reid, at the Adult Entertainment Expo (AEE). But, she has always had a long line and due to me having to run around and conduct interviews with various starlets, I have never had the time to stay on line to meet her. This year, as in the past, she was signing at the Jules Jordan Video booth. And, on, Fri, Jan. 22, 2016, I finally stayed on line and met her! Despite this being the AEE where I got to conduct the most amount of interviews (I have posted some, more to come!), having the help of my friend, photographer, and Master's Minion BAS Photography, meant I could finally achieve this goal of mine!
I clearly picked the right to do just that, as it was long, but not too bad. As I waited in line, though, it soon began to get longer and longer! She is extremely popular and deservedly so, might I add, and as such she has a ton of fans that love her. And, it's easy to see why. Riley is a hot as fuck performer and naturally beautiful, super cute, and has a bootie to die for! The wait to actually get to her was not a short one, but boy was it ever worth it! She was all smiles, as I told her that being press, I never had the open window to meet her, until now! She also signed a long, nasty, sexy, dirty signature, on both the 8x10 and DVD (both different messages, might I add) I bought I off her. It's something that she loves doing and makes her even more awesome. This all made meeting her one of the definite highlights of the entire expo, for me!
The next day at the Adult Video News (AVN) Awards, she racked up a total of six awards! They are were all well deserved and included such coveted ones as Female Performer of the Year and the fan awarded Favorite Female Performer and Social Media Star. I recall getting the news of her victories via twitter, later that night, and being happy for her. If you are ever at the Expo, you need to meet her, even if her line is long and slow, stay on it! You will be glad that you did!

Skinless- Only the Ruthless Remain (Album Review)

Musician: Skinless
Album Title: Only the Ruthless Remain
Genre/ Subgenre: Death Metal
Label: Relapse Records

It's been forever since the last album, Trample the Weak, Hurdle the Dead, from South Glen Falls, NY death metal act Skinless came out in 2006. They had disbanded in 2011, but thankfully got back together in 2013. Last year, some nine years later, they finally gave us a follow up in the form of Only the Ruthless Remain. Is it worth the wait? You bet your ass it is!

In fact this album surpasses that solid album, in almost every manner. It is extremely technically efficient with amazing musicianship from all involved. There are lots of tempo changes within each track as they go between fast and shredding to slow and grinding. The excellent drumming by Bob Beaulac are accompanied by a full sounding bass and alternately blistering and soaring twin guitar work that will have you headbanging along to the point that your fucking neck my snap right off. The vocals from signer Sherwood Webber are brutal and add to the pounding sound.

Songs like the killer opener "Serpenticide", the grinding "Skinless", and the appropriately named "Barbaric Proclivity" simply decimate. It makes for an album that is impossible to sit still while listening to. The cool as fuck cover (one of my favorites from last year!) completes a package that fellow death metal fans simply need in their collection. Welcome back Skinless, you were missed but have more than delivered the goods!

Unborn Suffer- Nihilst (Album Review)

Musician: Unborn Suffer
Album Title: Nihilist
Genre/ Subgenre: Brutal Death Metal/Grindcore
Label: Selfmadegod Records

Polish band Unborn Suffer are back with their fifth album, entilted Nihilist. It's certainly a fitting title for this pummeling release. This is without a shadow of a doubt the most savage releases, that I have heard thus far this year.

There are seventeen tracks in total. Most of the songs are very short in nature. The shortest one is "Post Aburtom pt 3" at 8 seconds, while the longest, "Life Is a Lie" clocks in at just 3:06 minutes. As such the songs come fast and furious, and the album never lets up.

Musically it is as if your being bludgeoned to death by Flash nemesis the Reverse Flash. There are blastbeats galore and guitars that go between lightning fast and crunching viciousness. They accompany vocals (from signer/ bass Piotr "Bexdreadrock" Wisniewsk) that range from inhuman screaming to low guttural growling. While there isn't a throwaway track to be found here, some really standout. Songs like the aforementioned "Life Is a Lie", "Extorted Humanity", the vicious "Destroy What Destroy Us" and the piss and venom filled "Self Purification" are true experiences in uncompromising brutality. Yet, the band isn't above having a sense of humor, as evident by the track "Grind Until I Die" with it's fun title and the ending where Wisniewsk coughs from signing in the way that he does.
Nihilist puts the brutal in brutal death metal. It's grindcore at it's fastest and most face bashing. If your looking one of the heaviest and most barbaric new albums out there, then look no further than this one. Oh and extra points for the cool, old-school style, death metal cover artwork!***1/2 out of *****

The Girls of R18.com at AVN Expo 2016

Japanese adult site R18.com, had a host of lovely Japanese porn stars on-hand at AVN Expo 2016. They were there to sign autographs, pose for pics, and meet fans. Oh and be totally hot and cute as hell, as well as promote themselves and the site. I can honestly say they achieved all these goals with flying colors!

Hitomi Tanaka, and her amazing boobs, were definitely one of the star attractions of this booth!

Every single one of these babes were beautiful and super cute. It would be hard for me to pick one favorite, so I won't. I just enjoyed meeting all of their smiling and sweet smiles.
