Horror Crush: Jessica McNamee

Hey, it's that time again! Time to add another talented beauty into the hallowed walls of this site's Horror Crush section! This time that honor is going to Australian actress Jessica McNamee!

McNamee was born in Sydney, Australia on June 16, 1988. Her sister, Penny McNamee, is also an actress, and they have two more sisters, as well, as a brother. Her niece Teagan Croft plays Rachel Roth on the DC/ HBO Max series Titans. Over in Australia in 2007, she gained fame for playing Lisa Duffy on a soap opera named Home and Away. In 2019 she married a property developer named Patrick Caruso. On February 2010, McNamee became an ambassador for The Hart Follows Foundation. They are dedicated to treating and preventing vision problems, including blindness.

Before that, though, in 2009, she starred in the phenomenal Australian horror movie, The Loved Ones. Writer/ director Sean Byrne's movie is the tale of a cute but utterly psychotic girl named Lola (Robin McLeavy) who is rejected by handsome heabanger Brent (Xavier Samuel) for the prom. With the help of her even more insane Daddy (John Brumpton) she kidnaps and tortures him. There is oh so much more to this absolute masterpiece. It's darkly funny, intense, disturbing, and graphically gory. It's also got great directing and a wonderful script by Byrne, who went to make the amazing The Devil's Candy. This is one of the best movies to come from the Land Down Under in many years.

The acting is phenomenal from everyone involved including McNamee, who plays goth babe Mia, a girl who our hero's friend Jamie (Richard Wilson) asks out on a date. This is the movie that made me a fan of hers (as well as of the lovely McLeavy would go on to star on AMC's wonderful western series Hell on Wheels). She is excellent here, being both sexy and sympathetic. Her character is kind of a dream girl, headbanging, drinking, smoking pot, and being very easy to like.

I had shared my review of this excellent movie back when it finally got released in the US in 2012. I made a silly tweet (I admit I was considerably more immature back then), that I wanted her to have my babies. She actually RTed that. And, then a day later she RTed my review, and said she liked it! Even if I gotta admit some of my words on said review are definitely on the more immature side. But, all of this proved to me, that she is awesome and has a cool sense of humor. She made a fan of me for life!

She wouldn't return to horror till the till 2018's admit ably underwhelming Jason Statham vs. giant prehistoric shark film, The Meg. She played Statham's character's ex-wife. I honestly forgot she was even in it. Then again, it is a completely forgettable, missed opportunity. All I recall is how disappointed I was (especially the more I thought about it), and how cute the little yorkie in it is!

In 2019, she appeared in Hulu's anthology horror series, Into the Dark. It was in an episode called "I'm Just Fucking with You". I never seen this show, much less this episode. Any thoughts from you guys who did see it? Let me know in the comments section below.

In 2020, she returned to killer water animal terror with Black Water: Abyss, which has a killer crocodile. This is apparently a sequel to Black Water, and I have never seen either or. Any thoughts on this one?

In 2021, she appeared in what might be her biggest flick yet, the awesome Mortal Kombat. In it, she played my second favorite character in that video game franchise, Sonya Blade (my favorite character is Kitana, if you must know). She was perfectly cast in this role and really embodied that character. I gotta say this is my favorite role of hers (that I have seen), since The Loved Ones. Now, I know this ain't horror, but it's got a shit load of gore and is a fucking total blast to watch. To me, it is hands down, the best live action movie take on any video game. She will be returning for the sequel. Fuck yeah!

Jessica McNamee is a fucking awesome actress who really brings her characters to life. She is also drop dead gorgeous! And, seems to be cool as hell in person. With at least one legitimate modern, classic horror film and everything else mentioned here, it is an easy decision to add her to Horror Crushes!

4 Must See Scenes: Claire (Rodney Moore Hairy Girl Edition)

All pictures are from their respective owners.

Claire is one of my favorite hairy ladies to have worked in the adult biz. Known as Velma over on ATK Hairy, Claire was the name she used when shooting for Rodney Moore's Rodneievision. It's from there that I know her work best from, and where I became a huge fan from the moment I first saw her. The following are four really smoldering scenes she did for him. I give them my highest recommendation, though truth be told anything she is in is gonna be HOT as fucking hell. As always, I provide links to where you can legally see and/ or purchase these scenes.

4. Claire and Rodney Moore- Found in Seattle Hairy Girls 71&72, this hot and fun scene has Claire going to Rodney's place to try out for a modeling gig. Rodney you see, is playing a photographer. Claire then changes into her hot and sexy lingerie outfit. Rodney realizes that she's hairy, and he's like, "You can't be a model you're hairy!" But, he soon finds himself turned on by her look. And,  well, who can blame him?!
Claire looks absolutely gorgeous here. From her sexy blue blouse to her red/ tiger print intimate wear with fishnet stockings (which look KILLER as they off her great legs!), her hotness is on full display. I like Rodney being turned on, by the way she looks. And, she plays up everything perfectly! The scene ends on an extra nasty note, which solidifies as it as one of her best!

3. Claire (Solo)-
This scorcher from Seattle Hairy Girls 73&74, has our redheaded goddess in full dom mode. She talks to us (the camera), as if we are her slave. Asking us if we ever had a hairy mistress (to that, I say, if only!), and ordering us to lick her hairy parts (legs, armpits, etc). She then strips to her HOT and VERY revealing fishnet outfit. Then eventually, she gets nude to get herself off, as we do, too.

This scene is just so fucking sexy! Her ordering us to lick her hair and the camera focusing on them, as she talks is the stuff to make your screen melt. That she says that we are doing a good job only makes it hotter. She looks so beautiful and the vinyl and fishnet outfit is one of the sexiest outfits she has ever rocked. At the end of the scene, she gets angry at us for being done before she is and snaps her cat o'nine tails (which also used sexily during earlier parts of the scene) at the screen. This is the perfect nuclear level finale to this one!

2. Claire and Rodney Moore- Of her boy/girl scenes, this one from Seattle Hairy Girls 79&80 is my favorite and second favorite overall of hers (that I've seen). In it, she plays a cam-girl who has hired Rodney to shoot her content, since she wants the scenes to look better than what she had been doing on her own. Rodney complies, and she switches into her HOT as fucking hell bikini. As he starts shooting, she talks to the camera and strips, as if she being shot for her own content. This is hot as fuck, already, and it only gets better from here on in!

Rodney, in the meantime, is so turned on, that he is, err, enjoying himself. This pisses off Claire, who finds this highly unprofessional. He asks her to help him get off, which eventually leads to them having sex, of course! The finale is smoldering, very nasty, and ends it all on a super high note.
It all sums up to one a scene I love to revisit, though, I honestly, finish pretty early on. Even though I gotta say that is a scorcher from start to finish!!

1. Claire (Solo)- And, now for my favorite scene of Claire's, and the one I have watched the most times. This one ranks among my favorite scenes ever (honestly the scene that got ranked at #2 definitely ranks high in that manner, as well). Said scene is a solo one and can be found in Seattle Hairy Girls 69&70. Our goddess looks delectably cute, as she is on a bed. She asks us if we have ever been with a hairy girl, and tells us that she is very hairy.

She focuses on her HOT, hairy parts, which is so fucking sexy!! She is AWESOME at dirty and sexy talk, really knowing what to say and how to say it. Plus, the tank-top and shorts look so good on her! She then strips first to her blue bra and then. of course, fully nude, as she touches herself.
Claire looks gorgeous throughout this and is volcanic in her level of sexy and hotness. I am pretty sure that this was the first scene I ever saw of hers. I became a fan in a split second. Her way of playing up to the camera, her all-natural body, and body hair are heavenly. Combine that with her legitimately beautiful face, those impossibly gorgeous, light, blue eyes, and her being a legit redhead was enough to seal the deal for me.
I had to see and own more of her work, especially with Rodney! Seriously, he's the man and no one makes better smut than him! Anyway, my point is this scene is FIRE, and Claire is one of my favorite babes. As a matter of fact, she might be in my top five favorite redheads of all time. Why? Cause, she fucking ruled!

Whether she called herself Claire for Rodney or Velma on ATK, one thing is for sure, she always gave the hottest performances. Like most girls who leave the biz, no one knows what became of her. I just hope she is doing well and is happy. And, we thank her for hotness. Are you a fan of Claire/ Velma? Let me know in the comments section below if you are!

Enterprise Earth Release "The World Without Us" Video/ Single & Currently on European Tour with Shadow of Intent!

Progressive deathcore summoners ENTERPRISE EARTH today unveil their latest single, “The World Without Us.” The staggering hymn follows the band’s “Death Magick” single, released earlier this month.

Elaborates ENTERPRISE EARTH guitarist Gabe Mangold, “‘The World Without Us’ is intended to follow directly after the ending of ‘Death Magick.’ There’s also an obvious juxtaposition between the two songs, which is also intended. When it comes to our music, we have always enjoyed being a multidimensional band and don’t like to limit ourselves to one sound. With “The World Without Us” being more melodic, uplifting yet energetic, and progressive compared to the sheer intensity and aggression found in ‘Death Magick,’ we feel that together these two songs capture a broad range of what we offer musically. Enjoy!”

Remastered 15th Anniversary Edition of Meshuggah's Classic "ObZen" Coming March 31st Via Atomic Records: Preorders Available!

2023 marks fifteen years since the release of ObZen, the groundbreaking sixth studio album from long-running metal icons MESHUGGAH.

Another masterpiece of musical diversity and surprises standing among an already sonically astounding discography, the 2008-released ObZen contains the band’s monster hit, “Bleed” – the song that tore through the industry like a shockwave leaving fans and musician friends alike simply awestruck. In a glowing review of the record, Blabbermouth accurately surmised of ObZen, “This is a distillation of the band's last fifteen years of mindfucking into a defining statement so cleverly-crafted, it manages to come across as monolithic and opaque even with a million skittering moving parts. Pure MESHUGGAH, pure chaos, pure control.” Metal Injection concurred noting, “The album is laced with all the elements MESHUGGAH fans have come to expect from the band -- the angular riffs; the discordant, eerie guitar solos; the polyrhythms and complex arrangements -- but here these elements are melded together into one seamless product which represents a band at the pinnacle of their career."

In celebration of ObZen’s fifteenth anniversary, Atomic Fire will unleash a sonically updated version of the album, remastered by Thomas Eberger and Sofia von Hage at Stockholm Mastering. The re-release of this masterpiece comes in hi-def audio on all streaming platforms, as well as a beautifully enhanced digipak featuring a twenty-page booklet and stunning 180-gram gatefold double vinyl in several marbled and splatter color variants (limited worldwide to under 1500 of each). The special edition will be released on March 31st.

Preorder yours today at THIS LOCATION.

Since forming in 1987 in UmeÃ¥, Sweden, MESHUGGAH has developed into one of the most technically complex and virtuosic groups of players the metal realm has ever encountered, their distinctly unique brand of progressive, grooveinfused extreme metal inadvertently launching an entirely new subgenre. Crowned “one of the ten most important hard and heavy bands,” by Rolling Stone, the band has earned the respect and admiration from fans and musicians alike. Stay tuned for more MESHUGGAH news in the coming weeks.
