Horror Crush: Lucy Martin

It's time to induct another talented beauty into the Horror Crush section! And, this around we are going to induct a newer actress that has stepped into the genre. That lady being the gorgeous Lucy Martin, who is already gained a huge fan in me.

Lucy Martin is a British actress, who was born in Solihull, West Midlands. She is the third of four children. Martin is most well known for playing Ingrid on the History Channel series Vikings. I have to be honest in saying I have never really watched that show. So my introduction to her came from her appearance in the recent body horror flick The Seed.

The Seed tells the gory tale of three, beautiful friends who head off to the Mojave Desert to livestream a meteor shower. They stay at the house of the father of one of them, Heather (Sophie Vavasseur). It all seems to indicate that this will be a fun weekend. One which will also be great for their social media. But, this being a sci-fi\ horror flick, shit soon turns bad, and the fun times instead end being filled with alien terror, body horror, slime, gore, and gross orgies! In words, it is total fun for everyone!

If you have been longing for a new sex and slime movie after the void left by Brian Yuzna's Society look no further folks! This flick gets progressively weirder and more disgusting, while somehow always looking beautiful and not just cause of the three lovely ladies in it, including, of course, Ms. Martin. But, we'll get back to her in a bit. Anyway, it is suffice to say, for now, that they are all quite good in the acting department. The movie is also funny, with some deliciously dark humor at times. I'm really disappointed that it isn't getting the love that it should be. The way that it mixes laughs, hot babes, aliens, slime filled sex orgies, vomiting, bloody violence, and gruesome body horror, this ought-to be hailed as future cult favorite!

Martin plays Deidre a popular social media influencer who is there to stream the weekend for her viewers. She is perfect in her role, which mixes bitchiness, sexiness, and attitude with a good dose of humor and fun. She looks fantastic in a bikini and, like the other two leading ladies, isn't afraid to get covered in gore and go full gross-out mode.

I absolutely loved The Seed! It's one of my favorite movies this year, so far. Gorgeous, sexy, talented, and adding much fun to this splatter filled movie and role, Martin is fucking awesome! With just this role, she has already become a favorite of mine. She has a great acting future ahead of her, and I really hope she returns to the horror genre and soon! Regardless, with only this genre credit under her belt, currently, its more than enough to induct Lucy Martin into Horror Crushes!

Horror Action Figures from NECA at Toy Fair 2019, Part 2: Lots of Terror and a little Metal!

Let's jump right into the second half of my coverage of NECA's upcoming horror action figures. And, for the first half be sure you click here.

I LOVE that NECA is continuing to do toys to genre favorites and classics that one never imagined would get toys, like Clive Barker's Nightbreed, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, and John Carpenter's They Live! While still giving is long time merchandise favorites like Sam from Trick R' Treat.

A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th (especially fans of the later) will have a lot to look forward to. And, speaking of things that you never thought you would see, I am adding the Ultimate Roy figure, AKA Fake Jason from Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. That is probably the one I want the most out of the F13 figures coming out.

And, hey if Freddy and Jason (and Roy) are here, then Michael Myers needs to here, too! And, what better way than with this AMAZING figure based on Halloween II! The alt heads and the jack-o-lantern with skull accessories are everything!

As always there is a MASSIVE amount of Predator and Alien toys coming or already out.

The title of this post promised you a little bit of metal, so here ya go! From the Big Four, we get Scott Ian of Anthrax and Megadeth's mascot Vic Rattlehead! I mean, there is no better way to end this than with some fucking thrash metal!!

Horror Crush: Kristen Hager

With The Predator, one of my most hotly anticipated movies of the year, coming out next month, on September 14, I thought this be a great time to show some love for the one of my favorite franchises, Predator! Today that love will be directed towards the gorgeous Kristen Hager, the latest induction into the Horror Crushes section!
Kristen Hager was born on January 2, 1984 (34 years old) in Red Lake, Ontario. She began her acting career in television. But, the first time that I saw her was in 2007's Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem.
A sequel to 2004's Alien Vs. Predator, AVPR is actually the superior movie of the two franchise crossover movies. AVP is honestly highly mediocre. Hampered by a shitty PG-13 rating, it is awful whenever the humans are onscreen but fun when the monsters fight. This sequel is kinda brain-dead, but it is mean-spirited and fun. Taking place immediately after the aforementioned movie, the Pred-Alien has chestbusted out of his way of a Predator. Fully grown he and his Xenomorph cohorts go on a killing and reproducing spree in a small town. One lone Predator leaves his home-world to eliminate the nasty, acid-bleeding, fuckers.
The movie, itself, is kind of underrated, I think. Now, by no means is it great. Most of the characters are slasher level/ cardboard thin. It also is way too darkly lit, where you do not see jack shit at times. However, I always have a blast watching it. There is some great gore and is wonderfully nasty. A kid gets killed and a pregnant chick is inseminated by the Pred-Alien making chesbusters (yes, plural) come out of her, instead of her expected baby.
Hager isn't really given much to do, except look good. She does this excellently, though and if there were awards for that she would surely have got a strong nomination in '07. Her scene where she tries to hook up with our lead in her undies is quite fetching. She has an amazing body, and I remember being blown away by her beauty and her butt.
But, if I liked her in AVPR, it is in the excellent North American series remake of Being Human from the SyFy Channel (2011-2014) that I fell in love with her. The series is about a trio of supernatural beings (a vampire, werewolf, and ghost) who live together. Hager plays Nora, who becomes the romantic interest and eventual couple of our werewolf hero, Josh.
Hager is wonderfully likable in this role. She adds a lot of pathos and heart to the story and her role. I loved her relationship with Josh. Of course, she also looks breathtakingly beautiful. I really and deeply miss this wonderful horror/ dramatic comedy series.
In 2012, she appeared in her next genre movie, the horror-comedy A Little Bit Zombie. I honestly have never heard, much less seen this one. However, it also stars the lovely Crystal Lowe (who perhaps should be added to Horror Crushes? What do you think?). If you have seen this one, please let me know your thoughts on in the comments section below.
Blonde, beautiful, and talented, Hager has been a favorite of mine since I first saw her. And, my fandom for her has only since grown. A wonderful actress, it is with great honor and joy that I add her to the Horror Crushes of this site! And, be sure to let me know if you are fan of hers in the comments section below!
