Friday, October 7, 2022, at New York Comic Con had me debuting the first of my two new cosplays: Obi Wan Kenobi. This was my first time, doing a true Star Wars cosplay. As while, I had done Darth Vader at Chiller in 2015, it was just a thrown together costume, and not a full blown cosplay. At least, that's how I feel. Anyway, the first thing on my schedule was the Chucky panel (the only panel I was able to get/ had lined up to attend). But, before hand, I had to battle the Darth Vader bride! I LOVE this cosplay, by the way!
Anyway, the Chucky panel was great. A bunch of the cast and crew was there and they answered some fun questions and played some cool clips and videos. Panels were the only place the mask mandate was enforced. If someone didn't have a mask on, they handed one to them. That being there were a few inside who still didn't wear one, cause wearing a mask is so difficult isn't it?!
Here are some of my favorite cosplays that I saw that day:
These two were dancing up a storm and having a genuinely fun time. As well, as attracting a crowd of their own.
While, I had a great time, on all of Friday, the honest to God highlight of the day (and certainly one of the top highlights of the entire con) was this following interaction. I saw this awesome cosplay of a Batman Returns Catwoman. Someone was taking her pic, and I asked her if I could take one next. She said sure, but when she looked up and saw my Obi Wan cosplay, she asked if she could take one with me! I answered of course! I felt so vey flattered, that it felt like that was the right thing to end the day with.
I'll end this post with a pic of me in said cosplay, before I put on my robe and headed to Comic Con earlier this day.
Next up, fun times on what is usually the biggest day at Comic Con: Saturday! Note, that I said usually...
But, before that be sure to click on the bottom link and see what happened on Thursday!
As long promised, here are the pics of me as Punisher, all with other cosplayers, at last year's New York Comic Con. I did this particular cosplay on Saturday. It marked my second time at Comic Con in this cosplay, which I have also done at other cons and events. By now, he is second nature to me but is always a blast to pull off. Above you can see me with two of Marvel's other New York City crime fighters, Daredevil and Spider-Man! Kingpin and the other baddies better watch their asses!
I next teamed up with my fellow NetFlix heroes, Iron Fist, doggy Luke Cage, and Daredevil! These guys were really cool and did some great cosplaying. I freaking loved the fact that the dude doing Iron Fist dressed his way too cute Pomeranian as Luke Cage. You can see a better pic of them directly, below:
This gorgeous cosplayer did a truly excellent and sexy Catwoman cosplay!
The crossover of the year! "Punisher Vs. Aliens!" Actually, this would be awesome if it actually happened. Marvel and Darkhorse need to make this a comic-book reality!
Finding and posing with others doing Punisher cosplays is always. Especially when they are as truly amazing as the following two:
My friend Nelson D. Martinez did a gun toting vigilante cosplay of his own in DC's the Red Hood. He looked awesome and badass as fuck! Below you will see us with some other kick ass DC cosplayers:
Spider-Gwen and I ready to team-up and take down some bad guys! Awesome cosplay, by her, by the way!
As always, I had a blast being my favorite comic-book hero. I shall be bringing him back later this year for NYCC and maybe some other cons. We shall see. Until then, this concludes my coverage of last year's NYCC. Did any of you attend? Are you any of the cosplayers featured in this or any of the pics in links below? If so please leave a comment and let us know.
As you long time readers know I am a huge, and admit ably life-long, comic-book fan. That being said, I have been seriously underwhelmed by anything DC has been releasing in regards to their upcoming DC cinematic universe releases. This perhaps most evident in everything related to their upcoming Batman V Superman, whose actual trailer left me totally apathetic.
Leave it then to Axel Braun and Wicked Pictures (and their imprint Wicked Comix) to shake shit up and release a KILLER trailer to their Batman V Superman XXX porn parody. It looks AWESOME! I've looked it a couple of times already, and simply love it! I can't WAIT to see and own the DVD, when it comes out. The costumes look great (of course! Braun knows and loves his comics), and the casting is spot-on! Speaking of which I totally flipped out when one of my personal favorites, the beautiful Celeste Star, made an appearance at the end of the trailer. It looks like a cool little cameo for her and an over all awesome and shocking scene. I actually got to tweet with Celeste about this, and she told me that it was really fun to do. Anyway, with any further adieu:
