NYCC 2023: Friday- Rick Flag, My First DC Comics Cosplay and More!

On Friday, October 13th of the 2023 edition of New York Comic Con, I did my first ever cosplay based on a DC Comics character. It being the The Suicide Squad (which is one of my absolute favorite superhero movies of all time) version of Colonel Rick Flag as played by Joel Kinnaman. And, I had a fucking blast doing it!

This might just be my favorite pic of mine from the entire con this year. I simply LOVED this Wendy's inspired cosplay!

What really added to the fun for me and made it a true highlight for me was being part of the DC Comics group cosplay. I've never done any cosplay shoot with a group this big, and it's honestly an awesome feeling and memory. I truly hope to do something like again.

The following two pics were taken at the shoot by Carlos A. Smith:

The following ones I took at the shoot, as I wasn't in these group shots or are pics where I in got with fellow DC cosplayers:

Here are some other cosplays that I saw and loved on that day:

This awesome Harley Quinn cosplay was done by Mackenzie.

The only panel that I got to attend this year was the one hosted by Shudder for the highly enjoyable V/H/S/85 and the V/H/S franchise in general. It featured directors from various entries in the franchise.

On this day, I bought:
And, a NYCC exclusive Vinimate AEW figure of Sting in a CM Punk shirt sold at the Diamond Select Booth.
A NYCC exclusive glow in the dark The Phantom of the Opera action figure by NECA (at their booth).

I wouldn't be there on Saturday but returned for Sunday for what end up being not just the best day of the con, but one of the best days I ever had at Comic Con. But, that is for another story...

In the meantime, who amongst you were at NYCC on this Friday and what were the highlights for you? Let me in the comments section below.

To be concluded with next NYCC post!

Five Points Festival 2018, Pt. 3

POP Prolific and plushPLAY were right to next to each other. The former did nostalgia/ parody toys and the awesome and hilarious tees above. Their figures (below), which are done in the 5.5 inch size, are really cool!
Meanwhile, the product from plush PLAY was cute and very pretty (below).

It was hot as fuck on this Saturday, so everyone was in need of some refreshment. Thank God, then for Brooklyn's own Three Brewing, who had a booth set-up with some delicious beer! Below is one of the lovely bartenders on-hand to serve our thirsty needs.

Matt Lineham had some of the coolest shit at the entire event, especially if you love cult, horror, and/ or David Bowie.

The gorgeous attendee below had some of the most beautiful ink I have seen quite sometime.

I bought a Transformer (Insecticon Kickbak, if you must know) off of Allycat's booth.

We talked metal with those two working The Cotton Candy Machine booth.

Let's end this part with a visit to one of my favorite companies, Super7, where I finally picked up an Iron Maiden ReAction figure, the Trooper one.

NYCC 2017: The Best of Friday's Cosplays Pt. 2

And, now for the last half of the best cosplays on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017:
Two badass and beautiful cosplayers doing excellent cosplays of Cami and Chun-Li.
Quite possibly the best couple that I saw on Friday, if not all four days. I mean come on, they're doing two of my all time favorite characters from Masters of the Universe in Skeletor and Evil-Lyn and doing them awesomely!
Not enough people do Selene from the "Underworld" franchise as cosplay. This beauty did it and excellently, might I add!
 Badass "Street Fighter" cosplay!!!

I am not bullshitting when I say that this next cosplay is one of the most amazing that I have ever seen! It is an AT-ST (AKA the Chicken Walker) from Return of the Jedi, and to a lesser degree The Empire Strikes Back. The Star Wars fanboy in me had a major geekgasm that only got bigger when the lovely Rey and her BB-8 ran into it and all posed together!

This dude has to be one of the most awesome Bizaro cosplays that I have ever seen!

The Gwenpool in the following two pics is my favorite cosplay that I saw of the character in all four days. The cosplayer, herself, is freaking gorgeous! The Spidey that posed with her in the first pic is pretty fucking awesome, too!

Two cosplayers looking great as Catwoman and Lara Croft (who was a fairly popular cosplay this year).
Oh my fucking God, this "Sin City" duo were too fucking awesome and badass!!!!
Not enough people do Agent 13 cosplays, which kinda sucks, cause she is an awesome character. I love that this lovely cosplayer did her so well!.
In my very humble opinion, the above gorgeous lady was the most awesome and badass Lara Croft cosplay that I saw all four days, if not ever.

Let me end the best of Friday's cosplays with two different takes on Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn.
These two are fighting over this lucky Yellow Lantern Scarecrow!
I LOVE the black, white, and red take on this infamous duo!

That is it for now. Next my adventures as Logan on this very same day!
