The Top 10 Geek Goddesses

With Olivia Munn gone from G4 and her website now a thing of the past, the position of geek goddess is open for someone to take the top stop. The truth is in the last in the last few years, beautiful women have been declaring their love for all things geeky on the net and on TV, much to the appreciation of male geeks everywhere. There is nothing cooler than finding out a hottie likes geeky stuff. And, so this blog lists the current top ten babes that deserve to be worshiped at the almighty nerd alter.

10. Kristin Adams- One of G4's longest working babes the sometimes underrated Mrs. Adams has what might be this list's sexiest legs. I loved her when she was doing Cheat. I also greatly enjoy seeing her do the news on Attack of the Show (AOTS). I think she should always do the news, but that's just me. Anyways, she can help me cheat on a game any day of the year!

9. April O'Neil- This self-professed nerd porn star is one of my favs over on Twitter. She's great at interacting with her fans, and has been on Chris Hardwick's podcast. Her tumblr recently had her nude with Dalek next to her. You don't get geekier than that!

8. Jessica Chobot- This video game babe can be found on IGN, as fellow X-Box Live fans know. She has also hosted AOTS. She is gonna be hosting the new G4 show Proving Ground. She knows her video game shit and is a cutie, what more do you need?

7. Ruby Violence- Model, erotic starlet, and fellow horror blogger, Ruby is one of the coolest babes on the net. Any time a hot girl has knowledge on gore and horror flicks its always gonna be a way to my heart. Beautiful and knowledgeable, you would do well to follow her Twitter and read her blog. And, be sure to check out her site, too!

6. Annie Cruz- This beautiful porn babe is one of the hottest performers around. But, she also happens to be a gamer, comic book fan (she freaking LOVES Batman!), and horror lover.

5. Carol Zara- This Canadian honey of Brazilian decent has one of the web's most beloved blogs. She never fails to voice her opinion on comics, horror films, babes, and other geeky stuff. She can be found at various conventions always being cool to her fans. The fact that she looks like this and is so heavily into geek culture is fucking awesome!

4. Candace Bailey- There is no argument that Candace has done a great job in taking over for Olivia on AOTS. Best of all she has proven to have an interest in learning geek culture. She tires hard and that's all that we ask for. Well that and the fact that she is cute as hell!

3. Alison Hailsip- It's great to see that Alison is still being used on AOTS. The combination of hotness, cuteness, and geek knowledge makes me love Alison to no end. Of note, she is THE only blonde on this whole entire list!

2. Misti Dawn- The world's definitive geeky porn star. With a love for comics, video games, and movies Misti is a nerd's wet dream come true. She's long been one of this blogs favorites, and she righteously deserves to be ranked among the very best of geek babes! And, let's make no bones about it, she's the real deal!

1. Linda "Vampy Bit Me" Le- Beautiful is a word to easy throw out there, yet some like my number one pick is well beyond the description of that world. Gamer, convention regular, horror fan, metal-head, cos-player, model, and blogger, this multifaceted goddess is my pick for number because she embodies everything that is necessary to wear the geek crown with true honor. All hail the greatest of all geek goddesses!!!!!!

ASYLUM (2008)

Title: Asylum
Year: 2008
Director: David R. Ellis
Writer: Ethan Lawrence
Cast: Sarah Roemer, Jake Muxworthy, Mark Rolston, Travis Van Winkle, Ellen Hollman

One night, Madison and her brother witness their wacky dad blow his brains out. Cut to the present, where Madison (the beautiful Sarah Roemer) is now all grown up. Her bro has also killed himself, but she starting college. She meets a group of kids which she befriends. But, you see the new dorm where they are staying at was once an asylum! And, it's haunted by the evil Dr. Burke (Mark Rolston), who used questionable methods to "help" the teens in the asylum. Soon, the kids start to get offed one by one, and he uses each of their psychological weaknesses and scars to get to them.

Man, this movie is as generic as they come. It rips off of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and offers nothing new to the genre. The doc even makes lame jokes as he kills. The acting ranges from OK to good, but the characters are pretty standard and generic. The girls are really pretty, though. In particular lead Sarah Roemer, whom horror fans might remember from the enjoyable Disturbia, is quite the babe. I have quite an affinity for Ms. Reomer and would love to see her do even more genre projects. I also liked the lovely Ellen Holloman, who had a sexy role in it, as the token sexpot. Carolina Gracia adds some Latina spice to proceedings. There is some slight nudity from Sarah's character, but it is hard to see it if it is really her or a body double.

The gore is alright, with an impressive head bisection that really rocks hard. The movie could certainly have been worse (Dr. Giggles anyone?), but there is really nothing here, beyond what little good things I just said to recommend this. The ending is terribly abrupt and if you've seen stuff like Dream Warriors or Bad Dreams, then you've seen this movie. Ultimately, this an asylum no one needs to visit, unless you are a Sarah Roemer completetionist.

EASY A

Title: Easy A
Director: Will Gluck
Writer: Bert V. Royal
Cast: Emma Stone, Amanda Bynes, Penn Badgley, Dan Byrd, Thomas Jayden Church

I recently watched Easy A on cable. Now, I should start by saying, I usually hate comedies, and I rarely watch them. I’m really picky when it comes to which ones, I actually like. But, a friend recommended it to me, and usually we have the same tastes. When, a girl I know on Twitter reaffirmed the recommendation, I figured why not. What the fuck do I have to lose? Moreso, cause it’s on Starz, now so it ain’t gonna cost me shit, if it sucks.
Easy A tells the story of Olive (the beautiful Emma Stone), a girl who is not popular. One day to get out of hanging out with her friend Rhiannon (the gorgeous Aly Michalka, who has amazing cleavage) and her family (who are weird hippies), she tells the lie that she is gonna go out with some made up college guy. When in reality she is staying home. When, she tells her friend the following Monday that she fucked him and lost her virginity, the local Jesus freak (the cute Amanda Bynes) hears it in the bathroom and soon the rumor spreads.
She is soon thought to be a slut. Eventually, she decides to help a gay student look straight by pretending she has sex with. Other boys pay her money to able to spread the rumor that they, too, had sex with her. She also decides to wear on an A on her clothing, like the book she just read for class, The Scarlet Letter. She becomes the talk of the school.

Easy A surprised me as far as entertaining it was. I wasn’t really expecting this to be my cup of beer, but I have it a shot, anyway. It is funny and has a lot of heart and sweetness to it, but never so much so that it is vomiting inducing. The cast is good, but really this is Stone’s movie. She has never looked more beautiful, and I ended up falling totally in love with her after watching this film. Sure, there are other girls in the movie, but they just don’t compare.

Actually, this is also a problem with the movie, as it is hard to believe that anyone as hot as her would be an outcast in high school. But, that’s Hollywood for ya. My only other problem is that the tact on romantic crap. Seriously, why did this movie need it? Oh, that’s right cause they want girls to like and watch the movie. That and the lead is a female. I kind of wanna buy this one on blu-ray someday, but that shit really annoyed me.
Still, Easy A is fun and easy to enjoy movie. Guys, and obviously girls, I think will find enough things to appreciate, hence my recommendation to watch it. And, if you’re a fan of Ms. Stone, then you totally owe to yourself to see this one. And, what’s best is that this one that you can share with that girl in your life.

The Master in Las Vegas July 2010 Pt. 3

The next day, Wednesday, had me and my friends, Alan and Aisha hitting the pool.
Then, Alan, Wally, and I end up going to the awesome Pinball Museum. This kick ass place, off the strip, had so many cool games! We had tons of fun, and it really didn’t cost much to enjoy.
OK, so you could say I didn’t do much on Wed, and yeah, that would be the truth. But, on Thursday, which was our last full day, and we had to enjoy it. We hit the pool, first.

Then, since Aisha and Alan were going to the MGM Grand for a burlesque show, I texted my friend, who at the time lived in one of the MGM Grand condos, and met up with her, that evening. I told her to pick a place for us to go to, so she picked Rouge. At the time it was a nice quite place with a wonderful atmosphere to have wine at. I really thought she made a great choice. Interestingly enough, when I passed that place in Jan of this year, it was loud and crowded. Not the same feel. Oh well.

After that we played pool at Game Works which is located next to the MGM Grand. It’s a fun place that fellow gamers will totally wanna hit. We then caught a quick bite at Dell Taco. I actually had Dell Taco on Wed, and at that point I had stated that it was better than Taco Bell. Well, that changed when we both got sick from eating there, despite eating different stuff. She had tacos, I had nachos. Cut forward to Jan, when that place is closed down and replaced by a Japanese food place. Well, food poisoning will do that to your shitty food joint, motherfucker.

I actually noticed on my second trip to Vegas that there are many beautiful Asian women that hang or work at the MGM Grand. I feel it is my duty to pass that info to my fellow Asian girl lovers. Also, that first time I didn’t hit the lion’s habitat. I didn’t get to do that when I was out with with my friend, well just cause, butI did in January of this year, and I liked it. Even though the lions didn’t do much, except lie around, but still I’m an animal lover, so I still enjoyed it.

Anyways, back to that Thurs, we said our good-byes and the next day all of us were sad to go back to New York. I honestly love Vegas, and I always think about it all the time. NYC, though, will always be my home, and it will always hold my heart. I am a NYer born and bled, and that will never fucking change. There ain’t a place greater than NYC. But, if I was ever to move and could choose where I move to; I would totally pick Vegas. Can’t wait to go back. And, whether it is business, pleasure, or both, I can assure you that I will.

The Master in Las Vegas July 2010 Pt. 2

Day two had me waking up for some good Harrah’s made breakfast. I just chilled for most of the first half of the day. Two of my friends were going to the Grand Canyon. I, though, had dinner reserved with my friend from Vegas at the Postrio in the Venetian. I wanted to chill and relax so as to not be in a rush to get ready for that night. So, it became my first day at the Harrah’s pool. I listened to some metal and read Rue Morgue, while just chilling. I was so happy at that moment and thoroughly enjoying and relaxing and not dealing with shitty stress, that I even tweeted that at that moment.

Well, when the time came we met up and went to the beautiful Italian restaurant. The Postrio has delicious food, and as she, herself pointed out, great atmosphere. It’s an excellent place for fine dining. I would tell her later (to be more precise on Thurs) that I had done much research before picking it as the place for us to eat at. I should point out that Vegas doesn’t seat you ahead of time. So, get there at the exact moment, unless you don’t mind waiting around. They are VERY punctual, over there.

I guess it goes without saying that you should do some research for, yourself, and part of the reason I did this blog, is to recommend some nice places for you Vegas virgins, out there.

Anyways, surrounding the outside (which is not an actual outside area) are gondolas, which come in from outside the hotel itself. We were in the inside part. I reserved this part thinking it would be too hot on the outside (not realizing at the time that it’s not truly outside), but the lighting was perfect. And, I think it worked just fine.

Since, at this time, she was living there, she knew the area better than me. I mentioned the Star Trek bar I had read about. She took me to it, at the Hilton. We rode the monorail to get there.

Now, for us East-coasters, the monorail will come off as a nice surprise as it is clean! All kidding aside, it is nice. Anyway, once we made our way to the Hilton. We saw two things:
1. Next to Vince Neil's Dr. Feelgood bar there is some cool memorabilia, but the bar, itself, it is deader than shit. There were two old people at the bar and that’s it! That ain’t metal, bro. It most definitely ain’t Duffs. So, this helps to remind me (not that I needed to), why Duffs rules. And, why only the East-coast could have it.
2. The Star Trek bar is no longer there. Some remnants remain like some of décor, but it ain’t there. Sorry, Trekkies! Funny thing- Spike TV has a show, Three Sheets, about drinking and traveling, that they advertise as new. Well, it ain’t. It’s new on THEIR channel. Proof is they recommend the Star Trek bar, which ain’t there no more, about a month or so, ago. Oh, well. It’s still a good show, but, you get my drift.

The Master in Las Vegas July 2010 Pt. 1

I went to Las Vegas about a year ago. But, I never really wrote about it here, or anywhere else for that matter, cause I figured no one gave a crap. The lack of porn, metal, and horror made me think that way. But, since I have been taking an article writing class, I began to feel inspired to finally write it. And, then my friend Natalie told me, on Twitter, that I should go ahead and just do it! So, here it is. It’s actually pretty tame, but there are lots of pics. And, it should hopefully show why I fell in love with Vegas from the moment, our limo drove down the strip. And, why if you ain’t done so yet, should get your ass over there, ASAP.

I had always wanted to go to Vegas (though my main reason was originally to see the AEEs, something I would end up doing almost six months later). At that time, I had a friend who was living out there and hanging with her, gave me someone to chill with over there. And, that in of itself was another reason for me to go there. When my friends decided to join me, I had it set!

I took the cab to JFK airport with my friend Alan on July of 2010. There we met up with his girlfriend Aisha and our friend Wally. We took the flight out to Las Vegas and got there at about noonish. Like I said in the intro, we took a limo and drove through the strip. This was my first time ever in a limo. I proudly wore my Duffs Brooklyn shirt to represent! From this moment my heart was taken by the beauty and awesomeness of the city.We ate dinner at KGB in the Harrah’s (which is where Alan, Aisha, and I stayed at. Wally stayed at the Wynn). The burgers were damn fucking good, there! We then took our first walk down the strip. I shot some video of the beautiful Las Vegas water show at the Bellagio.

You know what's one thing that really caught my eye? Well, aside from the beauty of the city or the hotties walking around, it was the ads for escort services! Not only did they hand out cards on the strip for them, but there are trucks that pass by with the ads on them! Awesome! You ain't gonna see that in NYC!

I would also like to point out that it is legal for people to walk around Vegas with alcohol in their hands. Like my East-coast friends and I said, that would NEVER work back home!

Finally, on our first day/ night, I got my pic taken with two hottie showgirls. I mean what else would you expect from me?

TO BE CONTINUED....

Slime City Massacre Release at Forbidden Planet NYC

This past Friday the 13th (May 2011), I went to Forbidden Planet NYC for the release and signing of the gore flick Slime City Massacre. One of the major reasons that I went, aside from getting the movie itself and getting signed, was to see my friend Debbie Rochon. I had not seen her in years!

Anyways, when I got in the store to actually get on line there was already a line forming.

The first person to sign my newly bought DVD was writer/ director (who also made the original cult favorite Slime City) Greg Lamberson. Next, was the pretty Mary Bogle.
Then, came the always beautiful and wonderful Debbie Rochon! Like I said I had not seen my friend in years. As we talked it was probably a Chiller (note she ain't done Chiller in ages) or a Fango con (there ain't been one of those in a long and even longer since I been to one she was at!). Anyway, we talked for a little while and it was great to see her and catch up. She's truly an amazing person.

Troma head Lloyd Kaufman was there, too. He was entertaining people like only her can. In fact, that his camera that you can catch a glimpse of on the pic of Debbie and me.

Ultimately, I had an awesome time, and I was very glad I went. I am looking forward to actually watching Slime City Massacre!
