Horror Crush: Elizabeth Blackmore

With this site coming back from the grave, it is time to bring its most popular running feature. And, that of course would be the induction of more ladies into the Horror Crush section of this site. And, with the horror world abuzz with the Evil Dead thanks to fucking awesome latest entry Evil Dead: Burn. Any who, let us take a beauty from this beloved franchise to induct: Elizabeth Blackmore! 

Elizabeth Blackmore was born in Perth, Australia. She is about 39 years old and is a graduate of Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. She got married in August 2024 and has a three year old daughter.

While, she has been acting since 2008, her first foray into horror came in the amazing and ultra-gory 2013 reboot Evil Dead. Director/ co-writer Fede Alvarez gave us a fucking ass kicker that became one of my favorite movies of the past decade, especially in terms of revisiting it. 

I've talked several times in this site about how good it is. The plot is classic Evil Dead: a group of young friends stay in a cabin in the woods. This time cuz they wanna help their friend Mia (fellow Horror Crush inductee, Jane Levy). One of the friends reads from the book and all hell is literally set loose.

Blackmore plays Natalie, the beautiful girlfriend of Mia's brother. Her character is a sweet girl, and we feel bad for her when her arm get possessed. She has to hack it off in a gruesome scene, that is even more bloody in the unrated cut. Somehow even as a deadite, she is still pretty hot.

She returned to the genre in 2015 to 2016, with her role as Valerie Tulie in The Vampire Dairies. As I have said many time before I have never watched so much as a minute of this show. So, I have no clue how she was in it, though I am sure she was great. She certainly looked great, of course!

She did her final role in horror in 2016, with a recurring role in one of my favorite TV shows of all time, Supernatural (which was also on the CW). That ome was of the villainous Lady Toni Bevell. It lasted two seasons till the following year in 2017.

 Sher was deliciously evil in this role and really gave this great cold and cruel performance. It was also subtly sexy Or maybe I just found it hot. The business look, with her hair up, and playing a bad girl made it easy crush material for me.

Look this blonde baddie can tie me and hold me prisoner any day she wants to. I might enjoy it more than I am supposed to though. Just being honest!

So far that is all the work in our genre she has done. But her beauty, talent, and memorable roles helped her leave a mark on the genre quickly. I hope she eventually comes back to horror, but either way we are happy to add Elizabeth Blackmore to our Horror Crushes!

Horror Crush: Dedee Pfeiffer

 It's that time again, to induct another lovely and talented lady into this site's Horror Crush section. This time around, is the first sibling to a major Hollywood star, to inducted. In this case, she is the younger sister to the gorgeous and ridiculously talented Michelle Pfeiffer. Yes, dear friends and readers, today I induct the stunning Dedee Pfeiffer!

Dedee Pfeiffer was born in Midway City, California on January 1, 1964. She began her acting career in 1985 with an appearance in Simon & Simon and, that same year, her first movie role in Into the Night. But, her first horror movie appearance would be a year later in 1986, for the horror comedy Vamp. 

Vamp has vampire strippers and a cult following and might be best remembered for starring Grace Jones. I have actually never seen it, but I plan to change that, soon hoefully. Anyway, Pffeiffer clearly looked spectacular in it. As I have mentioned here in the past, I am a sucker for girls rocking 80s hairdos and overall look. I am sure there are Vamp fans out there reading. Tell me your thoughts about it and Pfeiffer's role in the comment section below.

In 1985, she appeared in the made for TV horror comedy called The Midnight Hour, which I never heard of before. Have any of you seen it?

Her next horror flick role came in 1989's The Horror Show. It was originally planned to be House III, but distributors felt that it was too tonally different to its predecessors. You see this flick was much more serious and intense. Still, in Europe it is called House III. And, if I can be honest, it's better than any of other House movies, a franchise, I generally don't care or like (especially the godawful second installment).

The movie deals with a serial killer, Max Jenke (the late, great Brion James), who gets sent to the electric chair, but isn't quite dead. He haunts and fucks with the life of the cop, Detective Lucas McCarthy (the always awesome Lance Henriksen), who arrested him. It's part of a this odd, short-lived, cycle of horror movies dealing with executed serial killers who come back to life to terrorize the guy who took them down. Other movies in this batch include Wes Craven's Shocker (which stars another Horror Crush inductee, Cami Cooper) and The First Power (which stars Lou Diamond Phillips and the gorgeous Tracy Griffith, who I think would be a great addition to Horror Crushes. What do you guys think?). 

The movie has some great acting especially from Henriksen and James (I love his evil laugh). Honestly, the whole cast is quite good. The movie also has some solid and graphic gore courtesy of KNB EFX. I don't know if its the best of the dead serial killer to life post-execution, but I could definitely some saying that it is (something I have seen, including, if I am not mistaken, by Fangoria, themselves). For what is it worth Shocker is my favorite.

Anyway, Pfeiffer plays Henriksen's character's teenage daughter, Bonnie McCarthy. She does a good job in it and is quite likable. She does appear in a shower scene, but the actual nudity is from a body double. That's something I didn't even know till rewatching the movie last month. Anywho, this is the movie I first saw her in and first crushed on her. 

She appeared in many movies afterwards but only two horror flicks. Both are direct to video, and I had never heard about them till writing this piece. They are: Blue Demon (2004) and AVH: Alien Vs. Hunter (gee, I wonder what movie that one wanted cash in on...) (2007). I ask you guys once again, have you guys seen these? Let me know in the comments section below.

Pfeiffer also appeared in two genre shows: two episodes of The Dead Zone (a show I watched sporadically) and one of my favorite shows of all time: Supernatural (both these pics are from said episode).

DeDee Pfeiffer may not have been in a ton of classics, but she has a decent amount of horror under her belt. Besides her work in Vamp, The Horror Show, and Supernatural alone seals her position as a beloved actress by horror fans. Always stunning, to this very day, this talented blonde beauty is now the latest induction into Horror Crushes!

Horror Crush: Cherilyn Wilson

It is time once again to induct another beautiful actress into Horror Crushes. And, today that stunning lady is the talented and naturally ravishing Cherilyn Wilson!

Wilson was born on October 28, 1988 in San Francisco, California. She's been acting since 2004, but I feel is severely underrated and unknown by many, even in the horror community. This despite the fact that she has extensive work in the genre, both on TV and in movies! Here is hoping this induction helps to change that if even just a little bit. Let's start by talking about her work on terror filled television shows.

Her first genre series appearance was on a Supernatural episode called "Long Distance Call" from way back in season 3 in 2008. The long running series is one of the finest horror shows ever. It also has had many a stunning beauty on it, so it is not surprising that she was on it. She played the character of Lanie Greenfield, in this one.

From 2009-2010, she appeared on some show, that honest to God, I had never heard of before, called Love Vampires (or I <3 i="" vampires="">. I don't konw anything about this and am not sure it is my cup of blood. But, if any of you do know or like it, let me know in the comments section below.

Speaking of shows that I never heard of, she was also on a TV series short called Zombie Roadkill in 2010, where she played a character named Amber. If you are a fan of this show also let me know in the comments section.

One show, I do know, but have never watched is The Vampire Diaries. She appeared as Samara in a 2011 episode.

That same year she appeared on Dexter. I used to love this show, until it's terrible series ending. Anywho, in an episode that isn't the aforementioned ending, she played a character named Laci. Clearly, she looked absolutely gorgeous in it!

The last horror series that she appeared on was True Blood, on two episodes as Cammy in 2012. I actually vaguely remember her on this. Of course, she looks as stunning as ever!

And, that brings us to the horror movies that has been in, beginning with the movie that inspired me to write and induct her: William Malone's Parasomnia (2008). In this flick, she plays Laura Baxter, a young beauty who suffers from parasomnia, a condition in which someone spends most of their lifetime asleep, only waking up for very short periods. One day, a nice guy sees her in her hospital bed and immediately falls in love with her. Not that anyone is gonna blame him. Anywho, he sneaks her out to care for her, as he finds out that they are gonna move her to another place do study her. But, a serial killer with the power of hypnotic mind control is also in that hospital. He escapes cause he wants to keep her for himself and will use anyone to get her, including Laura, herself.

Malone gave us the loud, genuinely terrible, and annoying House on Haunted on Haunted Hill remake, but this is a much better film. It still is quite flawed, like having moments that come off as silly. But, it is an infinitely better movie. What it helps it a lot is the great cast and their acting. Among them are Jeffrey Combs, Patrick Kilpatrick (as the aforementioned baddie), and cameos by John Landis and Sean Young. Also amazing in her role is our girl Wilson.

She is incredibly likable and breathes some real life into Laura. Plus, she looks so beautiful, that as I said before, it easy to see how she can win anyone's heart. The movie also is that rarest of horror films, one in which the female lead is nude in it. In this case we get two topless scenes with (though I am only gonna show a pic from one of them)! Throw in some gore, and I feel that you should definitely check this one out. It is currently streaming on Shudder (which is where I saw it).

A year later, in 2009, she appeared in Chain Letter. I have never seen this one and reviews for it have always been shit. Any thoughts on it? And, how is she in it?

The last horror movie she appeared in was a very small role in 2011's The Roommate. While, I never seen all of this, I have seen enough of it to know its crap. To its advantage, aside from Wilson, it also has Minka Kelly and Leighton Meester, so it certainly delivers in the babe department. And, that is all it delivers on...

And, that is the horror career, thus far, of the beautiful Cherilyn Wilson. It's quite a bit, acutally, and here is hoping that she eventually returns to the genre. She is a solid and vastly underrated actress, giving strong performances, especially in the aforementioned Parasomnia. Of course, she is incredibly and naturally beautiful, pretty much a dream come true for lovers of blondes. And, with this, I am proud to make her an official Horror Crush of this site! Current Horror TV Series Review

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Usually around this time, I try to post as much horror write-ups as I can, but I been so busy it ain't been easy. I always take requests, though, and, someone wanted a Supernatural write-up, so I figured it was a good enough time to look at the current crop of horror shows on TV.

Supernatural – only two episodes this season, and it's has already been wild!! There are so many crazy things happening not the least of which is: Cas no longer has angel powers, angels have crashed down to earth as they've all been kicked out of heaven, Sam has an angel inside of him, but it's not just all angel stuff. The very sexy and tasty Abbadn is back! This hot warrior of hell is one that hot, evil bitch and on the second episode, which is the one she returned on, she cause a lot of problems for the Winchester boys. Like I said, it's only been two episodes, but I'm already really into this season. Which is much more than I can say for last season which was all right, but kind of uneven.

 

The Walking Dead – The most popular horror show, and one of the most popular TV series ever, returned for its fourth season. The first episode was, I think, a little uneven. It started off kind of boring and quite frankly there are way too many, new characters and I gave a flying fuck about, but... It kicked into full gear when they entered an abandoned store and fucking zombies were falling from the ceiling!! And, that one ended with quite a kid who was sick, died, and came back as a zombie. Which led to this past Sunday's episode where he contaminated a bunch of people, turned then into zombies, our heroes had to fight then, and there also zombies trying to get into the prison, from the outside, because apparently, some fucking reason, someone has been feeding them rats. Really good episode, easily one of the best I've seen in quite some time on this series. Here's hoping that this is a solid season, unlike the very uneven second and third seasons. As I've said in the past on twitter, Facebook, and probably here,  I enjoy The Walking Dead, but I've been having issues with it since its second season. Let's hope this is the one that gets right back on track like the excellent first season.

American Horror Story: Coven- After the atrocious last season, Asylum, this series is back on track with a tale of witches. GREAT cast, cool, characters, and a very awesome story highlight this one. I loved the last episode, where we even got a Frankenstein zombie creature!! And, we met a necromancer (witches with power over the dead), who reanimated gators and them eat the hunters, who had killed, them. Also, Emma Roberts is really fuckin. Just saying.

I should mention that this Friday is the return of another great horror TV series, Grimm. Last season was phenomenal so I really, really can't for this coming season to start! I think it's gonna kick some major ass!

Oh, and for those wondering, I tried watching Sleepy Hollow and wanted to kick my cable box. What an awful, stupid piece of shit!! And, the upcoming Dracula looks even worse, even if it does have the hottie who played the Huntress on Arrow on it...
