Horror Crush: Cherilyn Wilson

It is time once again to induct another beautiful actress into Horror Crushes. And, today that stunning lady is the talented and naturally ravishing Cherilyn Wilson!

Wilson was born on October 28, 1988 in San Francisco, California. She's been acting since 2004, but I feel is severely underrated and unknown by many, even in the horror community. This despite the fact that she has extensive work in the genre, both on TV and in movies! Here is hoping this induction helps to change that if even just a little bit. Let's start by talking about her work on terror filled television shows.

Her first genre series appearance was on a Supernatural episode called "Long Distance Call" from way back in season 3 in 2008. The long running series is one of the finest horror shows ever. It also has had many a stunning beauty on it, so it is not surprising that she was on it. She played the character of Lanie Greenfield, in this one.

From 2009-2010, she appeared on some show, that honest to God, I had never heard of before, called Love Vampires (or I <3 i="" vampires="">. I don't konw anything about this and am not sure it is my cup of blood. But, if any of you do know or like it, let me know in the comments section below.

Speaking of shows that I never heard of, she was also on a TV series short called Zombie Roadkill in 2010, where she played a character named Amber. If you are a fan of this show also let me know in the comments section.

One show, I do know, but have never watched is The Vampire Diaries. She appeared as Samara in a 2011 episode.

That same year she appeared on Dexter. I used to love this show, until it's terrible series ending. Anywho, in an episode that isn't the aforementioned ending, she played a character named Laci. Clearly, she looked absolutely gorgeous in it!

The last horror series that she appeared on was True Blood, on two episodes as Cammy in 2012. I actually vaguely remember her on this. Of course, she looks as stunning as ever!

And, that brings us to the horror movies that has been in, beginning with the movie that inspired me to write and induct her: William Malone's Parasomnia (2008). In this flick, she plays Laura Baxter, a young beauty who suffers from parasomnia, a condition in which someone spends most of their lifetime asleep, only waking up for very short periods. One day, a nice guy sees her in her hospital bed and immediately falls in love with her. Not that anyone is gonna blame him. Anywho, he sneaks her out to care for her, as he finds out that they are gonna move her to another place do study her. But, a serial killer with the power of hypnotic mind control is also in that hospital. He escapes cause he wants to keep her for himself and will use anyone to get her, including Laura, herself.
Malone gave us the loud, genuinely terrible, and annoying House on Haunted on Haunted Hill remake, but this is a much better film. It still is quite flawed, like having moments that come off as silly. But, it is an infinitely better movie. What it helps it a lot is the great cast and their acting. Among them are Jeffrey Combs, Patrick Kilpatrick (as the aforementioned baddie), and cameos by John Landis and Sean Young. Also amazing in her role is our girl Wilson.
She is incredibly likable and breathes some real life into Laura. Plus, she looks so beautiful, that as I said before, it easy to see how she can win anyone's heart. The movie also is that rarest of horror films, one in which the female lead is nude in it. In this case we get two topless scenes with (though I am only gonna show a pic from one of them)! Throw in some gore, and I feel that you should definitely check this one out. It is currently streaming on Shudder (which is where I saw it).

A year later, in 2009, she appeared in Chain Letter. I have never seen this one and reviews for it have always been shit. Any thoughts on it? And, how is she in it?

The last horror movie she appeared in was a very small role in 2011's The Roommate. While, I never seen all of this, I have seen enough of it to know its crap. To its advantage, aside from Wilson, it also has Minka Kelly and Leighton Meester, so it certainly delivers in the babe department. And, that is all it delivers on...

And, that is the horror career, thus far, of the beautiful Cherilyn Wilson. It's quite a bit, acutally, and here is hoping that she eventually returns to the genre. She is a solid and vastly underrated actress, giving strong performances, especially in the aforementioned Parasomnia. Of course, she is incredibly and naturally beautiful, pretty much a dream come true for lovers of blondes. And, with this, I am proud to make her an official Horror Crush of this site! Are any of you fans of hers? What is your favorite role of hers? Let me in the comments section below.

Hot Asian Girl of the Month: Tamlyn Tomita

October is a month filled with scary and horrible things. And, in the name of horror, the Hot Asian Girl of the Month for October 2013 is the gorgeous Tamlyn Tomita, who has been in a couple of genre outings.

Tomita the was born in Okinawa, Japan on January 27, 1966.

Before becoming an actress she won the Nisei Week Pageant in Los Angeles in 1984, and Miss Nikkei International in 1985.

She is most famous, though, for playing the love interest of Ralph Macchio in the The Karate Kid Pt. II. She is an absolute stunner in that movie. And, surely one that broke the hearts of many boys watching it.

As mentioned before, she's been in her share of horror films. She was in the really godawful remake of the Japanese horror classic The Eye that stared Jessica Alba, the underrated The Killing Jar, and most recently in a couple of episodes of True Blood. She looked absolutely phenomenal in those episodes and her catfight is one of the last seasons true highlights.

Some video of her on a red carpet.

As I said before, she is still absolutely gorgeous and is a complete MILF. Her almond eyes, porcelain skin, long, black hair, sexy legs, and everything else about her makes her the perfect choice to be this month's hot Asian girl of the month.

Monster-Mania 3/9/13

Although for many years I had heard and known of the Monster-Mania horror convention, I had never actually gone to one. It wasn't for lack of trying or wanting, either. But, in the end it was always so far away. While, it is in New Jersey, Cherry Hill to be precise, it's closer to Phillie. So much so that the train goes to Phillie then you gotta take a train to go back to Jersey. It's a long ride that none of us ever wanted to do. Until, that is, my friend Freddie mentioned that we should go. And, so finally this past Saturday we did. While, both he and Pat (one of my other friends that went with us) had gone before, for me this was my first time at the show. But, I had a blast!

Now, I gotta say the guest list was impressive from the get go. It was packed with fans, as a result. This in particular was due to having so much of The Walking Dead cast. The lines for said guests were INSANE! Especially for Michael Rooker, even more for Laurie "Andrea" Holden, and even more than that for Danai "Michonne" Guiria. The prices were for them were high, too. Rooker, who back in the day charged only 20 at Chiller, was charging 40! Michonne is known to have a rabid following so her line was a given that it would be long. So much so that she had her room, upstairs!

Despite playing one of the most hated characters on the show, Holden had what was probably the second biggest line, at the show.
Back when I met Rooker at Chiller, he was the life of the party. He was drinking and had all the girls around him. This time around he didn't hang with the fans after the show. Perhaps, he is too popular, now?

Anyway, I didn't bother meeting any of the cast. Not at those prices or those lines, I kind of figured they would be bad. Anyway, I did meet other celebs:

The main one I wanted to was Katharine Isabelle. Now, I had been a fan of this Canadian beauty since the Ginger Snaps Trilogy (the first two installments are favorites of mine) and enjoyed her in Freddy Vs. Jason, but it was her turn in the amazing American Mary that really sold me as a fan of hers. Since, I had contacted the Soska twins that I was meeting her, they told me to say, "Hi" to her.
When I relayed that message to her, she told me to tell them that she "loved them". I asked her if she ever saw the their first movie of theirs, the fun Dead Hooker in a Trunk. She told me that they had made her watch it before doing Mary. They feared she wouldn't wanna work with them after viewing it. It turned out she loved it. And, how could she not? It's such a fun flick! My review for it can be found here: http://themastergio.blogspot.com/2011/09/dead-hooker-in-trunk.html In all, Katharine is not only even more stunning in person, but she is also a total sweetie.
Next up was the very sexy Janina Gavankar. Now, I been a fan of hers since she first appeared on True Blood. She's great on that show as a shape-shifter and, best of all, frequently nude. She's also awesome on Arrow, where she plays a cop. Sadly, though, she ain't naked on that one. Anyway, I got her to sign my copy of True Blood season 4 on blu-ray. She was charging 30 bucks for an autograph, plus 10 for a pic with her. Oh and no candids. I was taken by her hotness, and the memory of her boobs, so I gave her 40 bucks. Regardless, she is very pleasant in person. Also, she looks absolutely hot, more so in this Optimus Prime is my boyfriend tee.
While, I did meet the Misfits many years ago, at a Fangoria convention, I couldn't pass up the chance to meet them, again, for free autographs. Truth is the autograph was free, so long as you bought one of their 5 buck posters. You got an extra one for free. Eh, not bad really. Now, Dez had left for the day for a show, and only Jerry Only was there. But, let's be honest, he's the guy you think about when you think about the band. Only is always a nice guy. He was having lunch while signing for fans. It just further cements them as my all time fav punk band, even if the current album ain't my cup of blood.
The dude in front of me on line got a coffin case for a guitar, which Jerry drew on and signed. See how cool he is!

Now, those are the only celebs that I met and got their autographs. That isn't to say I didn't meet anyone else, though. After, the show was over, our little gang went to get lunch. We came back and hung around at the bar. There I met Lew Temple. He played one of the funniest characters on The Walking Dead. He's quite the nice guy in person. As, he posed for pics with every fan who came up to him, and he even did an interview at the bar for someone! A cool guy all around.
There was quite a bit of cosply, more than likely due to the fact that there was a costume contest. We didn't attend said contest, cause our friend Matt, who joined us at night, didn't have a ticket. Actually, had we known Pat would surely have bought Dr. Satan, and I would've bought my cosplay, that I'm doing now, that of everyone's favorite cinematic pyschotic pig: Officer Matt Cordell, the Maniac Cop (the version from the first film). Anyway, here are the cosplays I took pics of:
Apparently the Empire is now hiring hot women as Stormtroopers. You can never charge the Empire with being sexist!
Jawas are lot bigger than I remember them being!
My fav cosply of the day! Killer Klowns from Outer Space, baby!
Over at the FEARnet table the killer from Tobe Hooper's Toolbox Murders, Harry Warden from My Bloody Valentine, and Cropsey from The Burning were hanging out.
Not a cosplayer, but rather a dummy, Crypt Keeper was at the table, too. John Kassir, who did his voice, was signing inside. My friend Freddie met him. Kassir's a really cool guy, actually.

And, that's it. I would definitely come back to Monster-Mania, in the future. It's got a more relaxed feel than Chiller, probably due to the fact that while people hang at the bar, there is no actual party. But, that's fine. And, it makes up for the fact that I will likely not be at the actual Chiller con in April. Why? Cause, it's a week after Exxxotica AC, which I will be at. There, you will find my crew and I covering the event.

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed my Monster-Mania coverage. Did any of you go? Do you have some good stories to share? Please do so in comment form below.

NYCC 2011: Sunday- The Final Chapter

By this point I was tired, but still ready to get on with the fun. In no small part thanks to Starbucks!

As with the other days, there was a ton of coplay. Some of my favorites were the following:
I wonder how many times I paid this babe a visit?

Yaya Han's Sunday look.

Chris is ready to defend us from Umbrella Corporation's zombies!

One of my fav Vertigo characters: Death!!!!

Badass Scorpion!!!!

My friends Kad and Cathy

Hotties from Private Island Entertainment

Adventure Time's Ice King!!! One of the very best of the whole con!!!

As far as celebs go, I saw Mark Hamill. Dude was charging 100 bucks? What the fuck?! Why?! I don't think any celeb has the right to do this. Still, he had LOTS of people going up to him everyday he was there. I guess he made a killing.

Here is the kicker, the lovely Carrie Preston of True Blood, appeared out of nowhere and signed for free!!! She was at the same table as Grace Helbig had been it at the day before. She was very sweet, but more on her in the upcoming Gorezone post.

I also hit artist alley and met two artists.
The Punisher rules!!!!

By the way, though Chris Hardwick by now, had left this is where his Nerdist booth was suppose to be at. I say suppose, cause we never saw it. And, no one at the con could help us!!! Fail! How could you work at Comic Con and not know? And, how can Comic Con not be able to point you in right direction on ANYTHING of theirs things, be it map, app, or otherwise?!

Finally, I had a good time, but this con had it's issues, all of which I have discussed in full detail. Regardless, I loved it and will be back. I hope you enjoyed my coverage and see you there next year, if you decided to go!
