This Halloween, the Soska Sisters' Third Original Horror Film, ON THE EDGE, Will Have Its World Premiere at Frightfest!

Beloved guests of FRIGHTFEST, the iconic Canadian twin filmmaking team, the Soska Sisters, return this Halloween with tricks and treats — the world debut of their latest horror offering, ON THE EDGE. This is both the third original film from the Twisted Twins and will be their third time returning to FRIGHTFEST which also premiered AMERICAN MARY and their remake of David Cronenberg’s RABID

Taking a departure from medical horror, the Soska Sisters delve into new ground with this tantalizing psychological erotic thriller.

ON THE EDGE follows family man Peter who gets more than he paid for when he books a 36 hour session with the sadistic Mistress Satana who seems more intent on making him suffer for his sins. Is it blackmail? Is it torture? Or is it the Devil come for his soul? Will Peter’s faith save him from his own personal Hell or is he already damned?

Glenn Burchnall, President and CEO of Cathasaigh Productions Limited, (“Cathasaigh”) commented:

“On The Edge is a brilliant depiction of how Kink Culture can heal past trauma and be a source for redemption. Here at Cathasaigh we heartily congratulate the Soska Sisters on this achievement, and are grateful for the opportunity to participate in this amazing project.”

Starring as Peter is Aramis Sartorio also known as adult film star Tommy Pistol. Returning to the screen are both Soska SistersSylvia Soska as Claire, Peter’s loving wife. And Jen Soska as deviously delightful Mistress Satana. Rounding up the all star Canadian supporting cast are identical twin sisters, Brianne and Alanna Finn-Morris who also have a band together called Fionn, Album of the Year Comedy album winner, Andrea Jin, Canada’s Got Talent Semi Finalist comedian Ola Dada, Juno Winner Ivan Decker, and the iconic Mackenzie Gray returns to work with the Soska Twins after captivating audiences as Gunter in RABID

“As an actor, working with artists of Jen & Sylvia’s caliber was incredible. This movie will be as horrifying for you as it was for me. But, people who are familiar with my other work… will agree that it really was my turn to suffer for your amusement,” boldly exclaims Aramis Sartorio.

Also returning is life long Soska Sisters collaborator Kevvy, who has been the musical creative force behind their films. The four time Juno winner and lead singer of Fake Shark with their single, Loser, currently in the Billboard Top 20, Kevvy is back with an all new original soundtrack and score as well as taking a turn in the producer seat.

Having met at FRIGHTFEST, the talented up and coming cinematographer and editor, Luna Wolf joins the production team. This being her highly anticipated debut feature.

Directed, written, and produced by the Soska SistersON THE EDGE was produced by Cathasaigh Productions, Twisted Twins Productions, Disturbia Films, and Black Mamba Pictures.

(Video) Exclusive Interview with the Soska Sisters at Monster-Mania March 2019!

At the March 2019 edition of Monster-Mania in Cherry Hill, I had the fucking awesome pleasure of conducting a very special and exclusive interview with the always kick ass and multi-talented horror masters, the Twisted Twins, Jen and Sylvia Soska. We talked their hotly anticipated remake of David Cronenberg's classic Rabid. We also got to talk a little bit about their current, badass run writing Black Widow for Marvel Comics.

From the Twisted Twins official press release:

Next up is a segment from an extremely talented Canadian filmmaker (who usually kicks my butt at horror short competitions) who has taken the leap from wearing every other hat on set to directing her first short, Marilyn Thomas.
You are going to love this one - it was a perfect storm of killer amazing talent who came together to make it happen including American Mary's Paula Lindberg and fellow Canadian artist heavy weight, Crystal Lowe.

DISCLAIMER: This IS Horror, boys and grrls, so SOME of these do have VERY naughty content. Blood. Gore. EXTREME gore. Disturbing situations. Nudity. Sexual situations. Violence. Language.

If you are SENSITIVE to this kind of content, be a mature human being and just don't watch. No need to spoil the fun for us fellow weirdos. We're not hurting anyone. It just REALLY looks like we are ;)

THE BLOOD HITS THE FLOOR AT MIDNIGHT TONIGHT!!!

Tune into Marilyn Thomas' 'Blood Bus'

Credits/bio
Why this is important:
I've always been a fan of the blood drive, but because of health issues, have never been able to donate. Last year, I found out that people of color are very rare donors. I realized that as a First Nations person, I wanted to change that. This year, I'm not only donating blood, but I've signed up as a bone marrow donor and ensured to check off organ donation. Blood donation is the easiest to give. It takes minutes, and you don't have to die to help someone out.

February rages on celebrating Women In Horror Month, now in its 9th year and with it returns the WiHM MASSIVE Blood Drive! Every year we gather filmmakers from all around the world to create public service announcements encouraging horror fans (aka the coolest, kindest people on the planet) to roll up their sleeves and Be A Hero by donating blood. This year we are very happy to have 30 filmmaking teams contributing making this easily our biggest year yet.

If you are SENSITIVE to this kind of content, be a mature human being and just don't watch. No need to spoil the fun for us fellow weirdos. We're not hurting anyone. It just REALLY looks like we are ;)

Seriously, do not watch this if you are sensitive. You'll have nightmares.

Let's get it on!

Up Next: "Donor" by Atropa Films

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Atropa Films is a an Edmonton-based independent filmmaking collective putting a queer gaze on genre films. With a shared lifelong love of horror movies and backgrounds in various artistic disciplines, our team brings queer visibility, narratives, and representation to all of our films both on and off screen. We aim to bring a voice and narrative focus that has been glaringly absent from many subgenres of horror, blending what we love about genre cinema with queer perspectives and storytelling.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT:

We are so excited to be involved in this year’s blood drive because horror and blood donation are two things we are very passionate about – a number of our crew members are actually students of or currently working in health sciences. Some of us can’t donate blood at this time due to various restrictions and ineligibilities, so we hope that taking part in this project will help bring awareness to those who can. We also want to use this platform as an opportunity to remind everyone that Canada still has incredibly archaic laws around blood donation that prevent many people we love from donating. Men, as well as trans women, who have sex with men are not allowed to donate blood without first meeting strict requirements that are not feasible for many. During the last Canadian federal election campaign, Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party stated that they “will bring an end to the discriminatory ban” as “this policy ignores scientific evidence.” Please get in touch with your MP and encourage them to push for an end to the stigmatizing blood donation ban so that more of our friends and community members can be heroes as well.

"Got Blood?" by Aislinn Clarke

ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Aislinn Clarke is a film-maker and writer/director, whose work has been professionally produced for film, stage, and radio. She has an academic background in Film and Scriptwriting up to Master's degree level and has worked in film, TV, theatre, and radio, locally and internationally, for fifteen years. She is the first woman in Northern Ireland to write and direct a produced feature film, The Devil's Doorway, which was invited to showcase at BAFTA in London, later screened at the Cannes Film Festival and has secured international distribution. Aislinn is also contracted to write and direct feature film The Crossing for Boudica Films (who produced the BAFTA nominated films Iona, The Falling) and another feature film Touched for BAFTA nominated company Rocliffe. Her radio work has been broadcast on BBC radio nationally, as well as in the USA, Canada, and Germany. She has been profiled as a theatre director in The Stage magazine, and her theatre work has toured extensively across the UK and Ireland.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT:

"As a film-maker with an interest in horror, I see lots of blood and I'm always thinking of new ways to spill more. In fact, there are more ways than I can imagine - everyday we're at risk of accident or emergency and our medical services are always in need of more blood. My husband has a rare blood type and, as much as I would sometimes be tempted to spill it, it is precious stuff and he donates it regularly. I bake him cookies for after - I'm not a monster! Blood donation is not something that many of us think of until the need is right in front of us. It's important to be prepared and who better to remind an audience of that than us film-makers with blood on the brain! It's an honour to be asked to contribute to this year's Massive Blood Drive by utterly heroic Jen and Sylvia Soska, who for me have already shown what it means to "Be A Hero".

DIRECTOR’S BIO

Dayna Noffke is a screenwriter and director, who has brought her unique brand of storytelling,
dark humor, fangirl-infused enthusiasm and obsessive work ethic to Atlanta, Georgia.

Her work in the horror genre is informed by her experiences and her lifelong love of film. Her
travels have taken her from a childhood in St. Louis to stints in New York, Boston, New Orleans and even Branson, Missouri. Along the way, she picked up a degree in physical anthropology/primatology, logged time on a research project on mantled howler monkeys in Ometepe, Nicaragua, spent a few years as a high school special education teacher, and earned herself a roller derby name.

Dayna fell into filmmaking after a chance encounter brought her to the set of Rob Zombie’s
Halloween 2. Within two months, she had written and directed her first short film with a cast and crew full of friends, including Andrew Shearer of Gonzoriffic films. She had caught the bug and directed 9 more short films between 2009 and 2017.

Her film catalog runs the gamut from “backyard” no budget fare - such as the well-received 2011 film, MOUSE, praised for its naturalistic acting - to recent projects such as late 2017’s Teaser, a lush burlesque-inspired period piece that is hitting the festival circuit in 2018.

Dayna’s films have been screened at numerous festivals including Women in Horror events,
Rome International Film Festival, Spooky Empire’s Film Festival, Buried Alive, VHS, Florida
Film Festival among many others. Her screenplays have been chosen as official selections and finalists in screenplay competitions and showcases such as Oaxaca Film Festival, Stranger With My Face and Filmquest.

Dayna is currently in development for a horror feature inspired by a classic Victorian short horror story, along with working on new short films and logging lots of time traveling with her family, visiting historical and haunted sites, riding roller coasters and forging friendships all along the way.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT :

"I celebrate Women in horror month every month. Without the wonderful women of the horror genre, we would have no Frankenstein (thank you Mary Shelley). We would have no Creature from the Black Lagoon (thank you Milicent Patrick). And we would cease to exist.

I think these days more than ever, we need to remind ourselves that each of us emerged bloody and crying from the womb of a brave and strong woman.

It is my pleasure to be a part of this collection of short films that celebrates the wonderful women of Horror."

Joe adds on the subject of blood donation:

"Blood is life. It's in all of us. For most of us, it flows in abundance. But there are those out there less fortunate.

Donating blood means donating life. Now more than ever, we need to band together to help our brothers and sisters in need.

Not all of us can donate financially. But nearly all of us can donate the fluid of life to help someone else live theirs.

It's truly in you to give . Thank you for donating blood. Thank you for being a true hero. <3 font="">

The 70 Hottest Babes of 2017, Pt. 7, 10-1

10. Romi Rain (last year same)- Gorgeous Romi Rain retains her top ten spot after another successful year that included, among other highlights, award nominations and victories, hosting the Inked Awards, and playing Wonder Woman in Axel Braun's Justice League XXX porn parody.

9. Bella Thorne (new)- Bella means beautiful in Italian, and that is something that Bella Thorne most definitely is. While, I had heard of her before, it wasn't until seeing her in Netflix horror/ comedy The Babysitter that she really caught my attention, even more so after playing tonsil hokey with fellow list babe, Samara Weaving. But, I crushed even harder on her after seeing her in the movie that surprised me the most with how good it is. this year: Amityville: The Awakening. The goth look on her is just breathtaking! I hope she does more horror movies in very near future!

8. Mandy Muse (new)- In a very short period of time, Mandy Muse has become one of my utmost favorites in the adult industry. She is an amazing performer, one that fucks red hot on camera. She is heart stoppingly beautiful and sexy as fucking hell. Mandy's all natural body is breathtaking, with one of the best asses in God's green Earth. She also provided with one of my popular and, downright, sexy interviews of this year at Exxxotica. I fucking LOVE Mandy Muse!

7. Lili Reinhart (new)- Betty from the Archie comics is a babe. And, so is the actress who plays her on the dark and fascinating Riverdale, Lili Reinhart. She perfectly captures her wholesome beauty, but she also knows how to unleash pure, unbridaled sexuality when playing her character's bad girl side, Dark Betty. Want proof? Check out her striptease from a few episodes ago.

6. Lily James (new)- I first was enchanted by Lily James in the underrated Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. But, it is in this year's Baby Driver, one of the year's best movies, that she truly stole my heart. She plays our title hero's love interest, and like, he did, we fall in love with her, as well.

5. Deborah Ann Woll (last year #6)- The beautiful Deborah Ann Woll moves up one spot thanks to be being both on Defenders and The Punisher, as Karen Page. In the later series, her character's relationship with Frank Castle (AKA the Punisher, himself) is one of the most captivating in the Marvel live action universe.

4. Ana de Armas (new)- In the magnificent Blade Runner 2049, the heart-stoppingly gorgeous Ana de Armas plays Joi, the holographic/ AI lover, of the lead character Officer K (Ryan Gosling). And, she is so perfect, so painfully beautiful, that I wished that this technology could be a real thing. Her talent adds so much heart to the character that you begin to care about her and their relationship. even though, she isn't flesh and blood alive.

3. Dani Daniels (last year same)- Dani Daniels may not be shooting anymore movies, but she rules the cam world and still feature dances. She remains one of the industry's most truly gorgeous women, as well as my personal favorite.

2. Jessica Rothe (new)- Jessica Rothe played Tree the lead character in one of the year's most truly fun movies, Happy Death Day. She looked absolutely gorgeous and, best of all, was the best final girl of the year. In fact, she is one of the best final girls of the last few years. I crushed hard on her after this movie and wondered if I should go back to college and look for a Tree of mine own! In all seriousness, Rothe is fucking awesome and is the breakthrough star of 2017!

1. Jen & Sylvia Soska (last year #4)- After years of being on the list, many times moving up in it, the Twisted Twins, Jen and Sylvia Soska, finally take the top spot! This year they had many convention appearances, including MonsterMania, where they gave me one of my most popular and very best interviews if 2017! They also further moved along with their remake of David Cronenberg's Rabid. On top of that, they appeared on the Shudder network. All of this amounts to two of the hardest working and most talented filmmakers in all of horrordom. This isn't even mentioning their social media posts which are some the best on the entire net. Of course, it goes without saying that they are absolutely beautiful. I could go on and on, but the point is that they having this top spot is long overdue! All hail the impossibly gorgeous and awesome as fucking hell Twisted Twins, your queens of 2017!

(Video) Interview with The Twisted Twins: Jen and Sylvia Soska at Monster-Mania, Aug. 2017

Last weekend, at the August 2017 edition of Monster-Mania, I got to catch up with the always awesome, multi-talented, and beautiful Twisted Twins, Jen and Sylvia Soska. It had been a few years since I last see either of them. As such, I was ecstatic as soon as I found out that they would be at this convention. This would be their East-Coast horror convention debut (previously they had only done New York Comic Con). On the day of the con, I had the pleasure to conduct a brand new, little interview with them. They talked with us about the AVN Awards, their involvement in helping cast Axel Braun's upcoming Deadpool XXX, their own upcoming remake of David Cronenberg's Rabid, Hellevator, and more.
You can see it in the video below:

Monster-Mania Aug. 2017

On August 19, 2017, my good friend, and one of the Master's Minions, Freddie and I, headed over to Cherry Hill for another edition of Monster-Mania!! This was an awesome experience, from start to finish, and, overall, ranks among my favorite con experiences, which is a lot!

The first celeb that I went up to was the beautiful Alison Lohman. I know her best from one of my favorite horror movies of the last couple of years, Sam Raimi's Drag Me to Hell. She played the lead in it and was great! You may also know her from White Oleander were she looked especially breathtaking as a goth chick, among other roles that she has done. She was so sweet and talkative in person, as she told us about how great it was working with Raimi, and the usage of, mostly, practical FX. She is also so naturally beautiful! Lohman signed my Blu-ray copy of Drag Me to Hell. I was so happy to meet her as she was one of the two that I most wanted to meet for the first time.
The other person I most wanted to meet the most was the still gorgeous Daphne Zuniga. Many will best know this talented stunner from Melrose Place or from the Mel Brooks comedy Spaceballs. But, my favorite role of hers in the oh so fun sequel The Fly II. I actually asked her about it, and she told me that she could talk more about it more at her panel later in the day. But, she did tell me that she was already friends with Eric Stolz before shooting the flick. She is very sweet and seemed to be having a lot of fun at the con, as she was all smiles. I got to get a pic with her.
And, so a little later we did attend her panel, where she talked about being cast in Melrose Place, and how great it was to work with Mel Brooks, how she improved the scene where the laser blast messes up her hair, and more. She also mentioned that John Candy was so nice in person. I asked her about The Fly II, of course, and she spoke of how she got the role, thanks to Brooks, as it was produced by him. She also told us about emoting as Eric Stolz turned into a fly monster, and of how good an actor Stolz is, even, under all that makeup. She mentioned how he liked it with makeup FX, having done Mask, a little before this one. This most also be the first time were she not only talked about those movies, but also the cult flicks The Dorm that Dripped Blood and The Initiation, since they came out, if not ever! But, she looked liked she had a great time answering all the questions and reminiscing about her career.
Later, I went up to Lloyd Kaufman, at the Troma booth. Uncle Lloyd is always such a blast in person! I got Troma's War, which I had finally upgraded to Blu-ray, which he signed. He also signed my copy of Return to Nuke 'Em High Vol. 1, which was already signed by much of the cast. I got pic with him, and, of course, Toxie!
I finally met PJ Soles! Best known for roles in classics like Halloween, Carrie, Rock N' Roll High School, and The Devil's Rejects, she is truly one of the sweetest celebs ever! She liked my Fright-Rags Jaws shirt, which is freaking, no make that ''totally'', awesome! Next, time that she is at a con, I gotta bring my Halloween Blu-ray with me, so that she can sign it.
There was also  more cosplay than I usually see at this con. Here are two of my favorites:
How fucking awesome is this The Shining family cosplay?! This has to be one of the greatest group cosplays ever! LOVE this!!
This Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom couple cosplay is EVERYTHING!

After a couple of years, it was great to see the Twisted Twins, Jen and Sylvia Soska, again! I got to interview them, and that will be posted when it is edited and ready. Until, then here is a pic of us, from this con.
Finally, I thought I would share with you guys the swag that I got:
Fright-Rags- Aliens socks
Blu-rays- Creepshow 2, Beyond the Darkness, Troma's War, and Burial Ground
Funko Pops- Stranger Things Eleven with Eggos and Masters of the Universe Trap-Jaw.
