The Return of New York Comic 2021: The Final Chapter- Sunday!

Sunday, October 10, 2021, was the final day of the returning New York Comic Con (NYCC), and it was actually the most packed day! Yes, that means even more so than Saturday was! I don't know if they suddenly opened up more spots or not, but my friend was abele to get a ticket just the day (despite it being declared as "sold out"). And, like I said there was definitely more people than I saw on the previous day. Now, this was still less than in the pre-pandemic days but still.

Anyway, my friends and I had a great time. As the con was in full swing, and we took full advantage of all the fun there was to be had.

There was lots of cool cosplay to enjoy. Here are some of my favorites that I caught:

My friends are big fans of Sunny in Philadelphia, so they were, understandably, flipping out over this fun and humorous cosplay that brings to life one of the net's most famous memes.

I actually just saw Black Widow, earlier this week. And, I quite enjoyed it, save for the overdone, overblown climax. Anyways, these lovely ladies did an incredible job with their cosplays. They looked and felt very much like cinematic counter parts. Every time they would pass me by, I would be blown with how fucking accurate they looked!

Speaking of be blown away, this incredible Zatana cosplay is one of the absolute best cosplays that I saw all of the days, at this con. The gorgeous cosplayer really did an amazing job bringing a favorite character of mine to life. Her poses further added to her look and representation of the character. She looked just like Zatana would on the cover of a comic-book. I don't know the name of her, but if you do, please let her how fucking cool and awesome her work is!

Despite being a life long horror fan and writer on the subject, I have yet to see Midsommar. Admit ably, I am not a fan of most, if any, of the so-called "elevated horror films" (Jesus fucking Christ, how I HATE that term!). In fact, I thought the same director's, Ari Aster, Hereditary was only alright and mostly overrated. Whatever, the case maybe, this cosplayer's Midsommar inspired cosplay is fucking incredible! The amount of time and work that must have gone into making this is, alone, worthy of admiration. It's beautifully done, too. I don't know if she had to ride the train with it on, and if so how she did that. But, either way all of my compliments go to this amazing and jaw-droppingly great job!

As a life long Godzilla fan (who was coincidently wearing my recently purchased Godzilla: King of the Monsters baseball tee from Cavity-Colors on this day) I had to get a pic with this Godzilla. Based on his Legendary Pictures look, he was fucking awesome!

Finally, I did get to do a little bit of shopping on this day, as well. I picked up the NYCC exclusive Funko Pop of Paulie Pigeon, which I got to do thanks to lucking out and gaining a scheduled time on this day. Even better, they still the exclusive Pizza Rat, which wasn't available when I had signed up for being able to shop on Sunday. I also finally got the NECA Halloween II Michael Myers, at a different booth, of course, which I had been meaning to get for the longest of time.

And, that dear friends and readers, is it for this Comic Con. I am so glad that cons are back (and hope that this recent Omnicom variant doesn't fuck things up). I look forward to next year's NYCC, when I expect to be back to three days of cosplaying. Until, then thanks for reading and let me know if any of you went to this con, and you're experiences in the comments section below.

(Video) Exclusive Interview with the Soska Sisters at Monster-Mania March 2019!

At the March 2019 edition of Monster-Mania in Cherry Hill, I had the fucking awesome pleasure of conducting a very special and exclusive interview with the always kick ass and multi-talented horror masters, the Twisted Twins, Jen and Sylvia Soska. We talked their hotly anticipated remake of David Cronenberg's classic Rabid. We also got to talk a little bit about their current, badass run writing Black Widow for Marvel Comics.

You can see it in the video below:

WinterCon 2018, Part 2: More of the Best of Cosplay

As one might expect December 1, 2018 in Queens, NY, was fucking freezing. But, a cosplayer has to cosplay and media have to cover what is going. Alas, I was doing both and greatly enjoying myself, while, simultaneously freezing my ass off! But, then so were my fellow cosplayers, especially those in skimpy outfits.

Before I got to seeing and interact with them, I took the chance to sign and write a dedication/ message to Stan Lee. As many who grew up as a comic-book, especially a Marvel fan, Lee was a hero and more to me. His passing was heartbreaking to all of us. What I wrote may have been short, but it came from my heart.

What follows now, in this second part (you can see read the first part here) of more of the coolest and finest cosplay that I saw on that day:

DJing in the bitter was cold was awesome cosplayer The Tank, the Life Size Action Figure, doing a badass cosplay of Marv from Sin City.

We are ready to open a whole can of whoop ass on some baddies!

I thought I was freezing, but I really felt for the following two lovely ladies, directly below!

Venom had a hold of Spidey! I had to do my best to save him! In all seriousness, this dude did a wicked cosplay of the anti-hero symbiont!

Jenna Daggers Cosplay made for an awesome and beautiful Black Widow. Her cosplaying kicked so much fucking ass!

The gorgeous Babs Butcher as Kate Bekinsale's character Anne Valerious from "Van Helsing". This such a beautiful and original cosplay!
The Punisher has a message for the Joker: eat your heart out!
I loved this Spider-Man/ Captain America (below)! Plus, he was really cool. When I asked him if I could get a pic with him, he asked me if I wanted to hold the shield. I was like hell yeah! Really nice guy and a most excellent cosplay!

This was an awesome time, and I already cannot wait for next year's WinterCon!

NYCC 2016- Fri, Part 1: More Cosplay, Toys, and Babes

As we moved into the second day of NYCC 2016, there was a lot more cosplay to behold. We also saw more cool toys. Here is the first part of some of my favorites in both categories from that Fri.
Let's be honest here. In a sea of Suicide Squad movie inspired Harley Quinns, it's hard to stand out. But, a couple did, like this lovely lady above.
 It's Purge time, motherfuckers!

Wanted at NYCC: more horror related cosplay like this awesome Saw inspired one!

Let's take a little break from cosplay, and go look at some cool toys. Oh and calm the fuck down we will get to more cosplay in a bit! First off, here is some stuff for my anime loving readers, including lots of Dragonball Z toys.

And, now for my fellow monster and horror fans, the King of Monsters, himself, Godzilla and friends!! All of these are from Diamond Select, by the way.
 Godzilla's best buddy, Anguirus!

Holy shit! It's Titanisaurus! Hardcore Godzilla fans will recall that he teams up with Mecha-Godzilla to attack Tokyo and beat-up Godzilla in the movie The Terror of Mecha-Godzilla.
The Godzilla: Final Wars incarnation of Gigan. Fucking badass!
Now back to more cosplayers, cause I always keep my promises!

This is the Ghost Rider that is currently on Agents of SHIELD. BTW, I haven't watched that show in ages and don't plan on ever going back to it. I am not a fan of this version of GR (in the comics, anyways), even though I am a huge GR fan, overall. That being said, this cosplay kicks all kinds of ass.

And, let's end not with a cosplay or a toy pic, but instead a pic (taken by Negative Pop) with me and a three beautiful ladies who were giving away samples of a juice.

To be continued...
