Cobra/ Dreadnok Band COLD SLITHER Announce NYC Show!

Purchase Tickets HERE

Reigning Phoenix Music, in collaboration with Hasbro, a leading games, IP and toy company, is thrilled to announce that COLD SLITHER, the reimagined heavy metal menace inspired by the infamous band from G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero, is preparing to take New York by storm. The show will take place on October 11th, the same weekend as NYC’s Comic Con, where the Gramercy Theatre will be conquered by an explosive sonic force that fuses nostalgia with a modern metal powerhouse. Get your tickets HERE.

Zartan comments on the forthcoming NYC show:

"Well, well, it seems as though there are several potential recruits whom have a desire to join our small but elite society of Dreadnoks... This time in New York City! Our services are once again called upon by Cobra Commander and Reigning Phoenix Music to melt minds with Cold Slither! So be it, my Dreadnoks and I will see you all October 11th... Come prepared...Cobraaaaa!!"

The show announcement follows the release of the self-titled debut album in June of this year via Reigning Phoenix Music. Also on the horizon, the G.I. Joe-stanning supergroup are set to join the Decibel Flexi Series with an exclusive new banger, “Cobra Island."

Cold Slither is a declaration of war. Fronted by the enigmatic Zartan and his ruthless Dreadnok bandmates Torch, Ripper, and Buzzer, the band fuses old-school heavy metal with anarchic energy and unrelenting force. With tracks built on punishing riffs, venomous vocals, and apocalyptic atmosphere, COLD SLITHER resurrects the myth and turns it into a modern-day metal juggernaut.

WinterCon, which is one of my personal favorite conventions, returns to the Resorts World Casino in Queens, NY this weekend, December 2&3! And, I couldn't be more pumped for it, as I'll be there covering it for my site.

As always there will be some amazing guests including cast members from Galaxy Quest, Farscape, Lexx, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Jaws 2, and so much more! And, of course, awesome guests means that there will also be some killer panels featuring them.

Diamond Select Toys and Netflix Team-Up for Collectibles from Zack Snyder's "Rebel Moon"

300. Watchmen. Man of Steel. Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Army of The Dead. Zack Snyder’s resume is a check list of ground-breaking films, and his upcoming film Rebel Moon is next on the list.

Rebel Moon is an epic science-fantasy event decades in the making that follows the story of a peaceful colony on the edge of a galaxy. When threatened by the armies of a tyrannical ruling force, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival.

Described as Snyder’s most expansive world yet, the behind-the-scenes footage released thus far promises an epic story filled with amazing action and visuals when it hits Netflix on December 22, 2023. Now, Netflix and Diamond Select Toys have joined forces to create a line of incredible collectibles based on the film!

Beginning in late 2023/early 2024, DST will release a variety of Rebel Moon products, including 1/10 scale action figures, Gallery Diorama PVC sculptures, and Legends in 3D ½ scale busts. The first series of action figures, which will be offered for pre-order on September 22, will feature Jimmy (voiced by Anthony Hopkins) and Nemesis (played by Doona Bae), followed in Series 2 by Kora (played by Sofia Boutella).

“What we’ve seen of Zack Snyder’s vision for Rebel Moon is amazing,” said Diamond Select Toys president Chuck Terceira. “We love sci-fi here at DST, so it was a no-brainer for us to go after what is sure to be one of the hottest sci-fi films of the decade. Our motto is ‘The Best of All Worlds,’ and we’re always looking for new worlds to explore!”

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Trailer Awakens Feelings of Joy!

As I lifelong Star Wars fan, I was super excited to hear about the series of movies that Disney are doing, now that they own the rights to franchise. While, I was a little concerned with Disney making shit too cute, I was reminded that Marvel has remained as is, with Disney not really fucking shit up there.

Slowly we have been getting more and more tidbits from the movie. A pic here and there and then the subtitle, The Force Awakens, which I think is pretty fucking sweet. But, now comes the biggest and most awesome piece yet, the first fuckin trailer!!!

Now mind you, it's just a teaser. We won't get more for a while, but it wets the appetite, it tempts you, it makes you salivate. I know after seeing this, I wet myself. And, every time I would rewatch it, I would wet myself again!

There are no plot points revealed, but we do get glimpses of some cool shit (I posted a few screenshots for you here, as you can see):

1. A black stromtropper, which is cool, cause this means people wanted to become stromtroopers, and they are not just a bunch of clones.
2. An R2 unit, or something like an R2 unit, with a ball for body, which is just cute enough without being wretch inducing.
3. Some hot chick on a new speeder bike, cause you know the Star Wars universe could always use more females.
4. X-Wings, TIE fighters, and the Millennium Falcon. Fuck yes!! And, the ships look fucking great!!!
5. But, the most awesome reveal of all is the new Sith Lord. We only see him from behind, but he's armed with a fucking kick ass looking blade. That shit looks like it could do some serious damage!! Bonus points, one of my new favorite geeks AlphaOmega Sin on the net, mentioned that it looks like something out of a black metal video. Which it totally does, and that motherfuckers, is totally awesome!

If you ain't seen it or want to cream your undies again, here ya go:

Actually, I do have one complaint. We gotta wait till Dec. of next year! Which is odd cause Star Wars movies always came out in May (may the 5th be with you, anyone?!), and sucks, cause we have to wait a fuckin year, a WHOLE fuckin year!! ARRRGGHHH!!!

On the bright side, we are sure to get tons of new Star Wars merch between now and then. Which means more stuff to blow my cash on and fill my room with! Maybe we will see some of it at Toy Fair next year. I'll be there, so I will be sure to let ya know! All we can do for, now, is hope that that is the case. Maybe the Force be with you all!
