Chiller Theatre Oct. 2025

First off, I know I posted nothing new in October, but between regular work (which you know is a good thing since it wasn't that long ago that work was nonexistent), con life, and everything else, I have been terribly busy. In fact, this is the latest I have ever posted a Chiller report in the long running history of this website. Also, I am still working on my New York Comic Con coverage, so that is also coming soon!

Anyway back to our main story: On October 25, 2025, my friends Freddie, Alan, and myself headed to the greatest of all conventions, Chiller Theatre, as we always do this time of year. As always we had a blast, in fact this might rank among the most fun Chillers, which is saying a lot!

The gust list this time around was packed! And, as such, there were also a lot of fans present. It was packed! The first celeb that I met was Judith Ridley, of George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead. Now, I have met most of the main cast and crew (including Romero himself) before at older editions of Chiller, Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors, and probably some other cons. But, she is rare, at least in my neck of the woods. So, I was so happy to have her at this con! She was very sweet and soft spoken in person.

Belina Balaski, who starred in many a Joe Dante classics, Gremlins 1&2, Piranha, The Howling, and more was next for me. She was amazing in person! Sweet and personable, meeting her was awesome. The Howling is a movie I love so deeply and was happy to finally meet one of my favorite cast members that I had yet to meet from the greatest werewolf flick ever!

The last celeb that I went up to might have been the sweetest. That would be Anne Bobby of Clive Barker's awesome Nightbreed. She was so sweet and enthusiastic as she talked about how great it was that people had finally gotten to see the incredible director's cut of it. We talked quite a bit. This was made great thanks to her friendly and lively personality. She rules! And, if you get a chance to meet her, you best do it!

After that we went to get dinner, then came back for the famous Chiller party. This one was a blast as I hung with friends and made new ones. Now, apparently at some point something happened involving a woman, a book, a celeb, and flying beer. I wasn't there (I had gone to the bathroom and caught up with Vinnie of Sci-Fi Ninja Theatre), but it was broken up quickly thankfully. And, it was back to more fun and booze! Here are some cosplay and hanging with friends party highlights:

These are autographs that I got that Saturday:
Judith Ridley- Night of the Living Dead
Belinda Balaski- The Howling
Anne Bobby- Nightbreed

This is what I ended up buying at the con:
House on the Edge of the Park 4K (from Severin Films' booth)
Bloody Creek  Blu-Ray (from Vinegar Syndrome's booth. I never seen this one, but it stars gorgeous mother/ daughter duo Terri Lewandowski and Christine Cavalier. I had a big college crush on them and met them at a Fango con. They were sweet and beautiful, but I never saw any of their work. I can finally correct that!)
Dark Night of the Scarecrow 1&2 4K double feature, which I got for free by buying the latest issue of Screem magazine. I choose the one with the The Curse of Frankenstein, cuz Hanner fucking rules! (I saw the first one [which is great!] of this double feature on The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, but I have not seen the sequel):

So another epic Chiller is over and we already wish it was April for the next one! Did any of you guys go? What were the highlights for you? Let us know in the comments section below.

Chiller Theatre April 2025

This past weekend of April 25-27 was the latest edition of the April edition of Chiller Theatre. My friends and I went on that Saturday the 24th, and we had a truly epic time! The weather was kinda crappy with rain, including at least one down pour, but none of that ruined what was one of the greatest times of the year!

The first celeb that I went up was George Milhalka, the director of the awesome Canadian slasher My Bloody Valentine. He was really nice in person, talking to my friend Freddie and I for a bit. We learned that he is a fellow, big Vincent Price fan!

Up next for me was the lovely Suki Goodwin of the underrated and atmospheric Hell Night. Starring Linda Blair this 80's favorite is a good time to be had. Goodwin was a total babe in that movie, and she was definitely one of the people I was most pumped to meet. I am happy to say that she was awesome to meet! She is very sweet and still gorgeous.

Speaking of people that I was dying to meet the next two celebs, I didn't get a pic with. But, I got their autograph. First up was legendary heavy metal guitarist George Lynch. The former lead guitarist of Dokken and various other bands, including Lynch Mob, his horror connection comes through the classic title track "Dream Warriors", from A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors. And, let me tell you he was THE most awesome guest of the weekend! He was funny, friendly, and cool as fucking hell! He joked with me and told me some wild and awesome tales, including that classic tale of Dokken snorting coke off of the Freddy glove on the set of the classic video for the aforementioned "Dream Warriors"! Seriously, Lynch fucking rocks!

I did the same with another celeb I was dying to meet. He was the one, that excited me the most the minute they announced him: Muse Watson. He's best known for playing Ben Willis the Fisherman of I Know What You Did Last Summer. He was nice in person, and seemed to be taken back by all the love that his classic slasher character has.

And, speaking my autographs here are all that I got at this show:
Hell Night: Suki Goodwin
Queens of Scream/ I Know What You Did Last Summer: Muse Watson
Nightmare on Elm Street Collection/ A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors: George Lynch
My Bloody Valentine: George Milhalka

There were some really cool statues and props in the some of the rooms in Chiller, like these:

Not only did this dragon flap his wings, but he "breathed fire", too (actually his mouth lit up).

The Exorcist Regan head above is one of only two remaining heads actually from the classic movie! These props come courtesy of The Witch's Dungeon. My friend's and I seriously need to go to this museum dedicated to classic horror and sci-fi!

As the show itself was winding down, we went out to dinner. Of course, we came back for the party! And, man did we have a blast! This was the most fun that I have had,  since honestly I don't even remember! Also, since we were able to stay and chill for a long time, we could actually drink. And, in my case, I was happy drunk! Yay!

While, at the party, I ran into this awesome Daenerys from Game of Thrones cosplay by Jade Green. She was really cool and sweet, and I told her that she's gotta get pic with that aforementioned (and pictured!) dragon statue. She said that she would. I wonder if and hope she did.

Two of the actresses from Pitch Perfect were signing at Chiller. And, that night they were chilling at the party/ bar with their own friend. The other actress, Alexis Knapp, left early that night. But, Hana Mae Lee and their friend hung longer. My friend Alan and I got a pic with Lee. She and her friend were really awesome and down to earth. Lee also commented that she liked my look and told me to check out her goth band, Grave Condition.

A little after that, it was soon time to go home after one hell of a night and awesome time!

Here is the swag that I got at Chiller:
From director Pete Jacelone's booth: Psycho Sisters (1998)
From Vinegar Syndrome's booth: Severance and Spoonful of Sugar
Got a copy of the latest issue of Screem magazine, which got me a free copy of Dick Tracy: RKO Pictures Collection:

This was another epic Chiller, and I already wish it was October for the next edition! Who among you went this weekend? What were your favorite memories? Let me know in the comments section below!

Chiller Theatre: October 2024

The weekend of October 25-27, 2024 marked another epic edition of Chiller Theatre, the greatest con in the universe! This was a stacked guest list, so my friends, and I were pumped as fuck for it! We went on that Saturday, the 26th, prepared for the epic time that we would be having.

The first person that I went up to was the celeb, that I was most pumped to meet on this day: the gorgeous Jill Schoelen! Schoelen starred in many a horror film including The Stepfather, Phantom of the Opera, Popcorn, Cutting Class, and more. I let her know that I had the biggest crush on her as a kid, and that she was one of my all time favorite scream queens. While, she thanked me for the former comment, it's the later one that she seemed to appreciate the most.

She signed my recently purchased copy of the recently released 4K disc of The Stepfather. Put out by Scream Factory this is superlative transfer of this masterpiece. I actually also told her about my love for that classic, and it was cool that she was wearing a tee of it that day! Schoelen was so sweet in person, that she talked to my friend Freddie and I for a while.

She gave out a folder with her picture, listing all her work, and promoting her upcoming (next year to be more exact) horror/ comedy Christmas movie: Twist. This movie will also mark her return to acting which is awesome as fuck! She is honestly one of the sweetest and most amazing celebs, I have ever met. I cannot possibly say enough good things about her.

The next celeb I went up was Ian McCulloch, star of Italian horror favorites Doctor Butcher M.D. and Lucio Fulci's classic Zombie, that later of which is one of my all time favorite movies. As such, I was so excited to meet him. That's another thing that made this Chiller so awesome, we had the return of stars of Italian horror and Godzilla movies return (more on that in a bit).

Anyway, McCulloch told me that he had met his youngest fan ever, the day before in the form of a seven year old! That's crazy! I think letting kids watch bloody and wild Italian horror movies is parenting done right! Anyways, he also told me that the dude who played the famous worm-eyed zombie (from the posters and artwork) was a stuntman with a huge car and World War II memorabilia collection, as well as a staff of ten who work for him! What a cool and wild fact! He also told me that about ten years ago he did this con with him. Man, I wish I had known/ been there! That guy is one of my favorite zombies ever, and I'd would love to meet him! Anywho, McCulloch signed my Blu-ray copy of Zombie.

As I said, Godzilla stars also returned to Chiller. There were two, I only went up to the lovely Tomoko Ai. She was my favorite female character/ actress in a Godzilla flick, having played the complex and lovely cyborg from the awesome last movie in the Showa era: Terror of Mechagodzilla. She is also the only actress to ever appear nude in a Godzilla movie, well sort of. As the character is topless. But, her boobs are prosthetics, cuz she is a cyborg being operated on, Makes sense, I suppose. She didn't know much English but was very pleasant to meet being all smiles, sweet, and grateful. She signed the page of Terror in the amazing and, apparently, now out of print Criterion Godzilla set.

The last celeb I met that day was the gorgeous Jill Terashita. She was in Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland and, another one of my favorites, Night of the Demons (she is also this site's inaugural Horror Crush). She was so sweet in person! Incredibly talkative and energetic, she was a pleasure to converse with. She told and showed me her ghost photography that she is doing now. It was very cool and intersting to see and hear about.

There were many more guests that I wanted to meet, but I did want to get some merch (you can see that and my autographs towards to end of this article). And, I couldn't afford it all. So, I opted to end my autographing with her and went to dealer's room. Afterwards, we all got dinner, so that we could then return for the famed Chiller party!

This was the first time in years that we actually stayed for the party instead of cutting out early. Being able to stay at my friend Alan's place meant we could drink and party! The party was a complete blast, of course. There was not a whole lot of cosplay (well that we saw, anyways), but the two dudes doing Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of the Kiss Dressed to Kill cover were awesome!

Anways, we drank, talked, met some cool new friends, saw old ones, and, of course, talked to the great Kevin Clement, who without there wouldn't be any of this. He is truly the man, an awesome person, a friend, and my fellow May 29er!

At one point during the party, I commented with my friend scream queen, Brandy Noir about how weird it was to see the party stop so that con attendees could watch the Yankees and Dodgers game on the TV. That was definitely a first! We mentioned our disdain for sports, but you probably don't care about. Unless you agree with us, in which case, yay for you!

The following are my movies that I got signed that day:
Terror of Mechagodzilla (from the Criterion Godzilla Showa Era set)- Tomoko Ai
The Stepfather (along with the free folder she handed out to her fans)- Jill Schoelen
Zombie- Ian McCulloch

Swag that I bought that day:
Screem magazine (LOVE that Creature from the Lagoon and The Shape of Water cover!) that got me a free copy of Ruby on Blu-Ray. I've never seen that blaxploitation movie but have wanted to for ages. The other two movies, that I bought, I've seen and love.
The Sadness 4K (I actually got that at the Vinegar Syndrome booth)
Cemetery Man (at the Severin booth. I bought the Blu-Ray cuz the 4K set, which, to be fair, does come with amazing soundtrack was $60. Meanwhile, the Blu-ray was only like $20 and was selling like hotcakes. I bought the last copy!)

And, so ended another edition of the greatest of all cons! As always we're already pumped for April's edition. Who amongst you went this time around? Who did you meet? What were the highlights for you? Let me know in the comments section below.

Chiller Theatre April 2024

This past weekend was that time of the year again, when we go to the best damn convention in the world: Chiller Theatre! So, on April 27, 2024, we headed to New Jersey to have one hell of a good time!

The first celebrity I went up to was the lovely Cindy Weintraub star of cult favorites: Humanoids from the Deep and The Prowler. I'm a fan of both, especially the former, which is a personal favorite, I couldn't wait to meet her. And, she turned out awesome, as she is so sweet, friendly, and personable. Weintraub told us that she was having a great time meeting the fans, and how she had no idea the love they had for these movies.

Next was the celeb I was most pumped to meet this weekend, the gorgeous Lisa Langlois, star of Class of 1984, The Nest, and more. The former is a personal favorite and made me have a huge crush on her as a kid. I've mentioned my love for punk girls and the like ad-nauseum here, but here I go again. Anyways, I did let her know just that, and she was very sweet about it. She told us that her son carried her punked out pic, proudly saying this is "my mom"! She was extremely sweet, as well and also talked to us for a good while. And, she, like Cindy, still looks great!

Fred "The Hammer" Williamson was next for me. From Dusk Till Dawn is one of my utmost personal favorite movies, ever, and the man is a legit legend. So I was so happy to meet him. He had long been on my Chiller guest wish list. And, I gotta say, he is so funny in person! I told him Dusk was one of my favorite movies, and he was like "You are a sick puppy!" That killed me. I admit I was a little starstruck at first, but his sense of humor made it much easier to be around him.

The final celeb I met that Saturday was Angel (Scarface, Carlito's Way) Salazar. He was so cool in person! It was awesome that he did one regular pic and one with an Uzi and some yeyo. While both, Scarface and Carlito's Way are favorites of mine, the former is an utmost favorite. But, I have that Blu-ray in a collector's tin, making it impossible to get a permanent signature on it. So, instead I opted for my 4K copy of Carlito's Way. He said that the former is his most famous role, so he signed as both characters on the 4K disc! So cool of him to do that.

There was this cool room that had some movie props. You can see a few in the pic below.

Of course, the Chiller party was slamming! In fact, this was one of the most fun ones in recent memory, which is saying something!

The following are my Blu-rays and 4K movies that I got signed on this Saturday:
Carlito's Way: Angel Salazar
Humanoids from the Deep: Cindy Weintraub
Class of 1984: Lisa Langlois
From Dusk Till Dawn: Fred "The Hammer" Williamson

And, this is the swag that I bought:
I <3 Gialli (you can see the awesome back of it in the second pic) T-shirt
From Vinegar Syndrome's booth: Graduation Day and
Mail Order Murder: The Story of W.A.V.E. Productions (seen both before the former is a good slasher movie, while the later is an excellent docu about the infamous exploitation/ horror underground company)
The Beast of Screem magazine (LOVE that Jaws cover!)
Mommy double feature (won it cause I bought the above mag, also never seen either flick)

This was an AWESOME edition of Chiller! Any of you go? If so who did you meet? What were the highlights for you? Let me know in the comments section below. As for me, I already can't wait for October's edition!!

Chiller Theatre: October 2023

On the weekend of October 27-29, was the latest of the October Chiller Theatre. My friends and I went on that Saturday the 26th and had, of course, an absolute blast! The weather was beautiful, being a very oddly warm day for late October.

The first person that I went up was the lovely Deborah Rennard. One of her best known roles is playing the bad girl in the Jean Claude Van Damme movie Lionheart. I had a big crush on her after seeing that flick, so I was really excited to meet her. She was awesome in person too, being all smiles and very grateful. This made a great way to beginning to what would be an awesome day at Chiller!

After that, friend Alan and I went to see our friend and scream queen extraordinaire Tiffany Shepis, who haven't seen in years, since the last Chiller that she was at way back in 2008. It was grea to chat and catch up with her. It is also awesome to see her in a major production like Star Trek: Picard. We talked about Trek, being on The Last Drive-In, and much more, including her even joking around about me buying a lot of stuff at this con while still being between homes not being the best of ideas! She is so sweet, genuine, and awesome, and it was just wonderful to see and talk to her again after too many years.

Up next for me were one of the people I was most excited to meet this time around at Chiller, the gorgeous Darlene (Back to the Future II, Pacific Blue) Vogel. I had the absolute biggest crush on her after seeing BTOTF2, and I got to tell her just that. She was all smiles and gave me two bigs hugs, as well as telling me she had a crush on one of the guys in Biff's gang while shooting the fan favorite movie. Vogel is still stunning and might be the most awesome celeb I met that for the first time that day, which is a saying a lot!

One actor I met and didn't get a pic with but did get his autograph was Nobert Weisser. He played Norwegian #1 in John Carpenter's masterpiece The Thing. Having recently gotten Carpenter's autograph at New York Comic Con (more on that in a future post!), I have decided to get as many signatures on my recently purchased 4K of what is my favorite Carpenter movie, as possible.

By this point we were hungry and decided to get lunch. I also took this chance to shoot a pic of my friend Nelson and his girlfriend, who did an awesome Joker dou cosplay!

The last celeb I went up to was the other one that was at top of my must meet list this time around: Dedee (The Horror Show, Vamp) Pfeiffer. She is afterall, a Horror Crush inductee, and an awesome and beautiful actress, that I have been a long time fan of. I actually recently saw Vamp for the the first time ever, and I enjoyed the hell out of it! Which I made sure to let her know. In person, she was a total sweetheart, down to earth and just plain awesome. Oh and if you are wondering why I switched from my a Killer Klowns from Outer Space long-sleeve (which I got at HotTopic.com, if you must know) to my Fright-Rags Lucio Fulci's City of the Living Dead, it's cause it had gotten hot as balls by this point in the day.

After having some dinner we went back to the hotel for the party. We didn't stay too late, but we still had a fucking blast and saw some great cosplays and cool sites. Here are a few of my favorites. Oh and again if you are wondering, I switched back to my long-sleeve cause it got a cooler by nightfall.

My phone acted up on me, but other than the crap lighting, this seems fitting enough, also a great chance to wish you all a very HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Here is the cool swag I picked up at the con:
From Vinegar Syndrome, who were selling everything at 10% off:
Camille Keaton in Italy and Mark of the Devil 4K (a new release of thiers and long overdue upgrade for my super old Anchor Bay DVD)
The Frankenstein Syndrome (An awesome movie, which I bought off of Shepis and she signed for me)
Screem magazine which scored me a free copy of Bob Clark's Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things 4K
and a NECA The Bride of Frankenstein action figure which I got for $25, which was definitely the merch deal of the day!

And, so ended another edition of the greatest convention in the world: Chiller! Were any of you guys there? If so who did you meet? Let me know in the comments section below.
