Monster-Mania: March 2019

On March 9, 2019, my friends, Freddie and Alan (his first time at this con!) headed out to Cherry Hill in New Jersey for the March 2019 edition of Monster-Mania. Needless to say, we had a fucking blast!

This was as hot as a con can get, with Saturday tickets having been sold out in advance. Thankfully, the three of us got ours beforehand. The place was packed, though it would begin to thin out by around 4 or so.

Anyway, as one would expect certain lines were super long, for example the ones for Neve Campbell and Fairuza Balk were crazy ass long! They were part of The Craft reunion. This was the first time all four of them were doing a con together. Balk was always my favorite in the film, but her line was too much for me to wait (at least two hours from what I heard). I wanted to enjoy myself and had business to conduct, anyway.

I did get the other two actress though, beginning with still beautiful Rachel True. I cannot believe that she is 52, as she clearly does not age! And, best of all, she was so awesome in person! I told her how happy it made me to have all of them at the con. I also talked with her about the amazing Shudder documentary about blacks in, Horror Noire. When she took the pic with me she grabbed my arm and said, "Someone works out!" I said, "Yes, I do!" I can honestly say that this made my year. I can die a happy man! As a matter of fact, True is so awesome in person, that I was dying laughing getting my pic with her!

The next and last person I went up to was the beautiful Robin Tunney. She was very sweet and down to earth in person and even more beautiful! Here eyes are absolutely stunning!

Here is my signed, by them, The Craft DVD. I had pre-ordered the new Scream Factory Blu-ray, but alas it has not come in yet. So, I guess I am keeping my DVD when that disc arrives, which honestly speaking, should be super soon.

After that I has spent so much on autographs that I just deiced to enjoy the con. Here are just some of my favorite cosplays that I saw at the con.

And, here is the swag I bought at the con. They are:
a Fright-Rags Poltergeist tee (bought at their booth, of course)
an Aliens patch for my battle-jacket
on Blu-ray:
Audition (Arrow Video Edition)
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
Trailer Trauma 4: Television Trauma
and a Funko Pop Metallica Lady Justice toy

Below you will see me getting ready for my interview with the always amazing Soska twins. It was conducted after their awesome panel. I'll be posting it soon, so keep your eyes open for it!

That's it for now. I will probably be going to NJ Horror Con (for the first time ever!) this Saturday, so if you are there be sure to say hi!

(Video) Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th Part 3" (Toy Review)

Here comes another one of my toy reviews! This time, it is for the Mezco One:12 Collective Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th Part 3. This was, of course, the entry that was in 3D, as well as the one where Jason first got his infamous hockey mask (you fans, already know that he wore a sack on his head in the second film and was but a kid in the first one).
Anywho, the toy is a jaw dropping, awesome figure, that will surely be on many a best of the year horror toy releases.

You can see my my review in the video below:

"Friday the 13th Part 3" and Jason Voorhees images are not mine. They are property of Paramount Pictures and New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. It is under the Fair use agreement for review.

Horror Action Figures from NECA at Toy Fair 2019, Part 2: Lots of Terror and a little Metal!

Let's jump right into the second half of my coverage of NECA's upcoming horror action figures. And, for the first half be sure you click here.

I LOVE that NECA is continuing to do toys to genre favorites and classics that one never imagined would get toys, like Clive Barker's Nightbreed, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, and John Carpenter's They Live! While still giving is long time merchandise favorites like Sam from Trick R' Treat.

A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th (especially fans of the later) will have a lot to look forward to. And, speaking of things that you never thought you would see, I am adding the Ultimate Roy figure, AKA Fake Jason from Friday the 13th: A New Beginning. That is probably the one I want the most out of the F13 figures coming out.

And, hey if Freddy and Jason (and Roy) are here, then Michael Myers needs to here, too! And, what better way than with this AMAZING figure based on Halloween II! The alt heads and the jack-o-lantern with skull accessories are everything!

As always there is a MASSIVE amount of Predator and Alien toys coming or already out.

The title of this post promised you a little bit of metal, so here ya go! From the Big Four, we get Scott Ian of Anthrax and Megadeth's mascot Vic Rattlehead! I mean, there is no better way to end this than with some fucking thrash metal!!

Horror Action Figures from NECA at Toy Fair 2019, Part 1

The annual event Toy Fair was held between February 16-19, 2019 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City, as it always is. I was there on-hand, as press, and, as in the past, will share some of my favorite toys that I saw at the event. Let's begin, with who hands down, had my favorite booth this year: NECA!! I will be focusing on their horror toys for this and upcoming second part.

Godzilla fans have a lot to look forward to. With the new American movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters, NECA is going all out to please us giant monster lovers:

I absolutely LOVED their Gremlins set-up and toys being displayed:

Terminator fans can currently get toys inspired by the old T2 Kenner toy line:

Fans of one of the greatest directors in the genre, Guillermo del Toro, will also have much to celebrate:

I'll end this part with all the awesome Stephen King's It/ Pennywise (both mini-series and movie) coming out (and, there is gonna be a lot!):

To be continued!
