Chiller Theatre: Oct. 2018

Due to a nor' eastern we had to reschedule our plans to hit Chiller Theate from Saturday,  Oct. 27 to Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018. There also ended up being a gas leak/ bomb scare on that Sat, but you can read more about here.

So, on Sun, we headed off to enjoy the greatest convention in the world: Chiller!

The first person I went up was Hammer Horror legend and former Bond girl, the lovely Martine Beswick. I told her that my friend, and I had had recently seen Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde. I also told her that we loved the film, and that it now was one of our favorite Hammer movies! She was very sweet and spoke to me about Italy and even complemented me on my hair, which completely blew me away! To say that I was flattered would be the understatement of the year!

Terrifier is the best slasher film of the year, and, as such, I was so happy to talk to David Howard Thorton, who plays the evil Art the Clown. He is so incredibly nice and friendly in person, that he talked to us for a good ten minutes! During this time, a fan cosplaying as Art the Clown got a pic with him!

After all these years, I finally decided to meet the lovely PJ Soles, who of course "totally" played Lynda in John Carpenter's masterpiece Halloween. She was also in classics like Carrie, Rock n' Roll High School, and Rob Zombie's The Devil's Reject's. Speaking of RNRHS, we talked a little bit about the awesomeness of The Ramones. After all, she had their shirt on, and I have a patch of theirs on my battle-jacket. I also learned that she is not, actually a horror fan! Soles is legitimately one of the nicest celebs you could ever meet. She is so impossibly sweet and down to earth, that every fan loves her!

My friend Freddie and I, both met the lovely Lisa Loring, who played Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family TV series among other great roles. She was very sweet, as well, and we both got a pic with her. She is such a freaking legend!

We also got to catch up and say hi to Mr. Chiller, himself, Kevin Clement, who runs this amazing convention. None of this would be possible without him. And, while he was not doing well some time before, he is feeling good now. He is even walking around on his own. He looks great and is truly one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Bless him and Chiller!

The last person that I met was the gorgeous Kelly Hu, star of Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Martial Law, X2: X-Men United, and countless more. She was, without question, the person that I wanted to meet the most; at this show as I am a huge and long time fan of hers. I can tell you that she is awesome in person! Not only is she breathtakingly beautiful, and clearly does not age, but she is also super friendly. Not to mention energetic! She was lively and seemed genuinely happy to meet and talk to her fans. Meeting her is one of the true highlights of this year for me!

These are my movies that I got signed at the con:
From Russia with Love by Martinez Beswick and Halloween by PJ Soles.

Finally, this is the swag that I bought at the con:
From Severin Films: 3 Blu-rays for $50- Anthropopagus, Absurd, and Eaten Alive (the Umberto Lenzi cannibal movie)
A Cannibal Holocaust $5 turtle in which proceeds went to the TSA (Turtle Survival Alliance)- if you have seen this movie, you know that it has a horrible scene where a turtle (among other poor animals) gets killed for real. Being that this was for a turtle charity made me feel great about buying and owning this, as I love that movie but HATE that scene (and all the other real animal killing scenes)
And, for buying a copy of Screem magazine, I got a free Blu-ray of Trilogy of Terror!

And, so ends another Chiller, we already can't wait April for the next one!

Chiller Theatre Oct 2016 (Updated!)

Yesterday, Oct. 29, 2016, was another amazing time at my favorite con: Chiller Theatre!! This time around I went with my friend, Baldwin. At the con, I met some celebs, got some swag, wore a little cosplay, and just had a freaking blast!

The very first celeb I went up was the beautiful Crystal Lowe. I been a long time fan of her, probably since I saw her in the way too fun Final Destination 3. But, it's the sometime underrated and totally awesome Black Christmas (aka Black Xmas) remake that I got signed by her. She told me that she thought more would be coming up to her wanting to get FD3 stuff signed, but it turned, I like many others, wanted Xmas signed. I told her that it has been a tradition of mine to watch it every Christmas season, since it came out. Lowe was incredibly sweet in person and loved talking to me and all her fans. She is also, as you can see for yourself, simply stunning.
The next person I went up was the gorgeous Lauren-Marie Taylor, aka Vickie of Friday the 13th Part 2. The gorgeous Kirsten Baker, also of the same sequel, was suppose to be sitting next to her but was at lunch. I would meet her later. Anyway, I told Taylor that she and Kirsten were big crushes of mine growing up, and they were. She said was faltered as she had never been anyone's crush (what? come on! She's beautiful!!), and that Kirsten was everyone's crush, male and female!
As I said, later I met Kirsten, who wore her Mickey Mouse tee like she does in the movie!! Both of them were so sweet to me, that I swear to God they made my day! Kirsten even said I was cute! I was the happiest 12 year old 40 year old guy, you could have ever met! The picture below ranks as one of my favorite Chiller pics, ever!
I have been into adult coloring books since last year when my little doggy Topi had gotten ill with cancer. I started with a Star Wars one, but after her passing my friend Baldwin gave me a couple more for my birthday. They help a lot with my anxiety. I saw one called The Beauty of Horror by Alan Robert in Barnes and Nobles the other day. So when I saw the artist, himself, was selling and signing his book at the con, I jumped at buying it since it was fucking cool!
I had not seen my friend Ruby LaRocca in what was a couple of years. It was great to see and catch with her and meet Rich Mallery. I loved their movie Sociopathia, and I got to interview them about it. That will be up in the near future, so stayed tuned!

From then it was on to the Chiller party! I partook in the costume contest in my Punisher cosplay. I knew I wasn't gonna win, but it was so much fun! Below are all the winners:
I love being in cosplay! Expect to see me at more cons like this!
There were lots of great costumes. Here are some of my favorites:

Pretty Woman cosplay! BTW, she is way more beautiful than Julia Roberts. Just saying.

With The Thing cosplayers who were AWESOME! Probably one of the coolest cosplays that I have ever seen!
With a gorgeous Wednesday Adams!

We didn't have a room this year, so we didn't see much of the concert, as we had to leave earlier than usual. But, we saw a little of it and enjoyed it, of course. In fact, we had a great time, and here's to returning to Chiller next year!!

Below is a picture of all the swag that I got at Chiller and below that, my autographs:

I hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween!

Chiller Theatre Oct 2015

It had been a very long time (much too long if you ask me) since I had last gone to an Oct Chiller Theatre Convention. And, it was definitely time to change that. So, on Sat. Oct. 24, 2015, I went there with my good friends Freddie and Matt.

The first person that I went up was the beautiful Barbara Crampton. I actually had met her many years back at an old Fangoria Weekend of Horrors, but I didn't have anything for her to sign, expect for the con program. But, I had been wanting to meet her again. After all, Re-Animator is my not just my favorite horror movie, but my favorite movie (of ANY genre) of all time. And, she's been in so many other favorites of mine like From Beyond and Castle Freak. Add to that the fact that I had THE absolute and completely biggest crush on her as a kid, I just had to. And, so I did. Barbara signed my blu-ray of Re-Animator and is just so sweet in person! She loves talking to her fans and is so friendly and down to earth. Not to mention that she is still utterly breathtaking in her beauty!

Next was the Godfather of Gore himself, H.G. Lewis. He was really cool in person, and his assistant was really nice, too. They got a kick that I was a gorehound who carried around a Spongebob folder. He's another person that I had wanted to meet for a long time. I saw him talk at a Fango con once, but he wasn't signing at that one. Well he signed my Wizard of Gore/ Gore, Gore Girls blu-ray, at this one. And, I couldn't have been happier!

The last celeb that I went up was Frankenhooker, herself, the beautiful Patty Mullen. This former Penthouse Pet of the Year and guest judge on one of the editions of WCW's Clash of the Champions is still gorgeous and also very friendly in person. She talked to us and signed my blu-ray copy of Frankenhooker (which I had already gotten signed by the film's writer/ director Frank Henenlotter).

From then it was just hanging out and buying cool shit. As, this is the Oct show, there was lots of cosplay on hand.
This Walking Dead inspired walker guard was freaking cool!
My friend Maria and her brother had THE best cosplay of the night with this kick ass one form Little Shop of Horrors!

After dinner Matt and went back to our room and got into our costumes. This was the first time we had ever done this for Chiller or any other con. And, it was a total fucking blast!! Matt was dressed as one of the Hanson brothers from Slap Shot, while I was the Sith Lord himself, Darth Vader!

The past meets the future as Klyo Ren and I team-up and try to turn this Hanson brother to the dark side!

One of the my favorite costumes had to be this beauty. She was doing the cheerleader from Nirvana's classic video "Smells Like Teen Spirit". I always had a thing for the cheerleaders from that video (cheerleaders + anarchy symbols + great music = everything!). So, seeing someone as truly beautiful as this stunner was in that outfit truly made my night! She was glad I her recognized her costume cause she says a lot don't. Well, I am just gonna say this here: those people are probably lame anyway.

Darth Vader and the Hitchhiker from Creepshow 2 are not happy about YOU killing us!

As always the music was just kicking some major ass and adding to the fun of the Chiller party!
This cutie photobomed my selfie earlier, and she made for such a sexy Harley Quinn that I had to get a pic with her!
 Lady Loki and Wolf-Cop!
Darth Vader meets those damn Peanuts kids!
 Four badasses at Chiller!

At last, Darth Vader vs. Ash from the Evil Dead movies!
Her Blade Runner costume was just awesome! I told her that I loved it and that said film is one of my favorite movies (which it most definitely is!)

This little kid loved my costume, which really made me smile and touched my dark Sith heart. His parents, fellow horror fans, made his costume which lit up was just so cool!

One of the many fun things was how many people wanted to battle me, the Sith Lord!
This little doggy was just too freaking cute and tiny!
Well, Chiller was a blast, and I hope to never let so much time between Oct Chillers happen again. I also think I may need to do more cosplaying, at this show! Cause I fucking loved it!
