Lacey Sturm/ Palisades/ Stitched Up Heart/ Letters From the Fire at Webster Hall, NYC 2/6/17

On Feb. 2, 2017, the beautiful and awesome Lacey Sturm had a show at Webster Hall in NYC. The former Flyleaf signer has been doing a headlining tour, and I was on hand, as press, to cover this neck of the tour. I been a fan of hers since her Flyleaf days, but never saw her live before. Coupled with some solid opening acts, I was very excited to be at this show.
Before the concert started I got to talk and meet Stitched Up Heart (one of the opening acts) drummer Decker and Madame Mayhem, the signer of her own band, baring her namesake. The lovely Mayhem was hanging with SUH at this concert. Her band is fucking awesome and you guys definitely need to be checking them out. To boot, Decker and Mayhem are both really cool and nice in person.
The first band that came on was Letters From The Fire. This was my first time hearing them, but holy shit, do they ever kick ass! They play great hard rock music. Their beautiful and charismatic lead signer Alexa Kabazie and the band, as a whole, have a great stage presence. As such, they are one of the best opening acts that I have seen in very long time and were playing in support of their album Worth the Pain, which is currently out.

Their set list was as follows:

Perfect Life
Last December
Worth The Pain
At War
Control
Give In To Me

After their set was done, I got to meet Alexa. She was so nice in person!
The next band up was Stitched Up Heart. This is now my third time seeing them, and as always they tear up onstage. Energetic and fired up, they own wherever it is that they are playing. Their set opened up with the ass kicking ''Finally Free''. From there they played various songs from their current album and full length debut, Never Alone, including ''Monster'' and their current video ''Catch Me When I Fall'', which has become my favorite song of theirs. The beautiful Mixi is just such an awesome front-woman, and she is backed up by an equally energetic band. They never fail to get me all pumped up!

As with the last two times, I saw them I met Mixi. She is definitely beautiful inside and out, as she is always so sweet to everyone who goes up to meet her. Humble, friendly, and down-to-earth, she is always all smiles, hugs, and selfies. She loves selfies with her fans and is the queen of doing just that!
Next up was Palisades, who played their brand of screamo/ electrocore. They showed a lot of energy and a different sound from the other bands on the tour. Their new, self-titled album just came out last month.

Finally, it was time for Lacey Sturm and her band to come onstage. From the very get-go the performance was filled with unbridled energy. The band was playing in support of her solo debut album, Life Screams. Personally speaking, I loved this album and thought it was one of last year's best debut albums.
Their set opened up with the album opener, Impossible. From there they played all of my favorite songs from album including such hard rocking tracks as ''Solider'', ''Rot'', and ''I''m not Laughing (which happen to be my three favorite tracks from the album), and the powerful and heartfelt "You're Not Alone".
One of the coolest track that they are playing is "Heavy Prey" the awesome song that she sang on the Underworld: Awakening soundtrack. They also played two cover songs, including their amazing take on The Police's classic track ''Roxanne'', which is available as a live extra track on their above mentioned album. On top of that, they also performed a couple of Flyleaf classics like the truly awesome ''Cassie'' and ''Chasm''. They closed off the set with Flyleaf medley of "I'm So Sick/ Fully Alive/ Call You Out/ Forever".

Between the songs, she would talk to the audience. She introduced the touring band members, including her husband, guitarist Joshua Sturm (first pic, below). She also would talk about the meanings of her songs, talking about life, love, and, of course, God. She speaks passionately, and you can see that it all comes from her good heart. Then she would get back to rocking hard. It's amazing all the energy that comes out from the tiny, little frame has. She is seriously one of the most energetic front-women to see live.
The end result was a great show. Lacey put on one heck of a show and was backed up by some great supporting acts. Be sure to catch this tour, if you haven't done so yet, and it passes your neck of the woods.

The 70 Hottest Babes of 2016, pt. 4: 40-31

40. Kimberly Freeman (last year #34)- The beautiful Kimberly Freeman of One-Eyed Doll remains one of rock's most original and cool frontwomen. She's specially awesome live, which I got to do, again in April of this year. Freeman is also one of the music world's most legitimately sweethearted talents that you'll find anywhere.

39. Nadia White (new)- Adult performer and horror movie actress, Nadia White is one of the most fucking awesome babes that you will find in the entire world. Sexy as fuck, she is the very definition of a bombshell. Plus, I had the complete pleasure of not only finally meeting her in person but interviewing her last month at Exxxotica NJ.

38. Caity Lotz (last year same)- The very yummy Caity Lotz' character of Sarah Lance, AKA the White Canary, is just as badass as ever, expect now she is leading the ragtag hero team on Legends of Tomorrow. She is always a shining star and highlight of that show (or any of the DC TV universe that she guest stars), even in the weakest of the episodes. As portrayed be her, the White Canary always looks hot and likes girls. That right there, makes her the sexiest superheroine ever!

37. Emily Hampshire (last year #54)- Emily Hampshire's character Jennifer Goines on one of the greatest sci-fi shows of all time, 12 Monkeys, is one of the most fun, complex, and fascinating character on all of TV right. The gorgeous Ms. Hampshire turns in amazing performances in each and every of the series. And, the thing is her character just keeps getting better and better! Which is just one of many why she jumped so high up on the list.

36. Eva Green (last year #18)- Penny Dreadful was one of the finest horror shows on TV. The impossibly gorgeous Eva Green was giving some of the finest performances that you'll ever seen on any TV series. Sadly the show ended abruptly this year. Oh, and the ending sucked, as did what happened to Green's character.

35. Margot Robbie (new)- No matter what you thought of Suicide Squad, ya gotta admit that the beautiful Margot Robbie was one of the main highlights, if not THE main highlight of the movie. As Harley Quinn, she was perfectly cast, and looked AMAZING in that outfit. Her character launched a million, and counting, cosplays at comic conventions everywhere on God's green Earth. And, with an ass like that she undoubtedly launched a million naughty fanboy, and fangirl, fantasies.

34. Riley Reid (new)- Riley Reid and her amazing behind, one of my favorite butts in the world, always have a hell of a line at AEE, and this year was no exception. Expect that I finally got to meet her, and she is fucking AWESOME in person! On top of that, she was up for and won awards at AVN, all of which she deserved.

33. Mixi (new)- The beautiful and tatted signer of Stitched Up Heart, Mixi is so sweet and down-to-earth in person, that I don't think my mere words can do her enough justice. On top of that her love for animals, in particular cats, further proves that she beautiful inside and out. Her band released their debut album, Never Alone, which is a very solid album, and I got catch them live when they opened for Sick Puppies in the spring.

32. Gillian Anderson (new)- The X-Files, one of the greatest horror/ sci-fi shows of ALL time, came back this year for a mini-series. And, it was awesome! Gillian Anderson, and everyone else, were great in their returning roles. Anderson looks more beautiful than ever, though fellow horror fans who were watching Hannibal before the this show came back on, already knew this fact.

31. Gina Carano (last year ranked 2013 #62)- After a 3 year absence from the list, the sexy as fuck Gina Carrano returns, doubling her ranking! And, it is all thanks to her looking legitimately delicious and badass as Angel Dust in Deadpool. Seriously, that movie fortified my crush on her. Bad girls! You gotta love them!

Sick Puppies Live at Gramercy Theater, NYC 5/09/16

On May 3, 2016 there was a Sick Puppies concert at Gramercy Theater in NYC, that I attended. I had won tickets via a contest ran on the Instagram of Do The Pit. The last time I saw Sick Puppies was back in 2014 on The Hottest Chicks of Hard Rock tour. Since then, though, their former signer Shim Moore is gone. The new signer's name is Bryan Scott. How is he? Well, I am happy to say that he is amazing and more than fills up the big shoes that Moore left behind! Anyway, more on them later.

Let's kick things off with the first band, I saw last night: Hudson. They are a hard rock act from LA and played a good set. Their music is very bluesy and has some good hooks. All, of the band members are extremely talented. This was my first time hearing them, and I quite enjoyed them.

Up next was Stitched Up Heart. I was super excited to see them again. The last I saw them was last year for a One-Eyed Doll show. Like last time, they played such a kick ass set! They opened up with the hard rocking single "Finally Free" and then preceded to play more songs off of their upcoming album Never Alone. They closed off with their latest single, from that album, "Monster". The band have such an exciting presence onstage that combined with their music really gets an audience pumped. Signer Mixi is not only gorgeous but an awesome, awesome front-woman.

By the way, it was the guitarist, Merritt's (left) birthday!

After they played, they told their fans to meet them by their merch booth. Though, I had met them before, I wanted to stop by and say hi. Mixi is quite honestly one of the sweetest girls anywhere. She is incredibly friendly and down-to-earth. It's awesome the way she treats and talks to her fans. She really cares about them and makes them feel loved. Also, awesome is that she gives a portion of proceeds to help kittens. I decided to get a download of their upcoming album. You should too, and show support for this amazing band. They deserve so much success! Go here to get it: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/stitchedupheart

Then came Red Sun Rising, and they were fucking awesome!! I had never heard of them before, but holy fuck did these guys ever rock!!! They play some really fucking good and driving music. I kept thinking to myself, "Goddamn! These guys are so fuckin good!" They definitely got themselves a new fan in me!

And, finally it was time for some motherfucking Sick Puppies!!! They opened their most excellent set with "War". From they played some great tunes from all their albums, including "Riptide", "Odd One", and "Gunfight". They, of course, played tracks off of their upcoming release, Fury. These included songs like "Stick To Your Guns" and "Let Me Live". And, let me tell, the new songs fuckin rock!!

They are so fucking amazing live, so full of energy, vigor, and charisma! As I said earlier, Bryan is a great front-man. He has awesome voice and did a great job at signing the classic and new tracks. I am really pumped for this release! My fears are long fucking gone. The absolutely beautiful Emma Anzai remains a true goddess. She is an incredible bass player and rocks so fucking hard! I love how bangs her head like a maniac onsatge!

After the show, the band graciously met their fans. This was a perfect ending to a great and truly fun rock show. All the acts that I caught were awesome. And, Sick Puppies are truly one of the best live bands around!
