The Mezco Toyz One:12 Collective Indiana Jones, based on his look in the iconic masterpiece Raiders of the Lost Arc (err, I mean Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc) came out not so long ago. And, now here's my review of this figure taken from one of my favorite movies of all time!
Packaging- This one has gorgeous packaging, which will surely please the in box collectors out there. The front (right) features a version of the iconic movie poster, with the image of Indy zoomed in. It extends to the bottom of the box, along with the copyright info.

The left side has the logo and a different image of Indy. The top has the same image of him.
While, the right side has a different image of our hero.
The back has pics of the figure in really cool glamour shots with movie accurate backgrounds, as well as showing off all the accessories.
From a purely aesthetic standpoint, this might be one of the nicest looking boxes Mezco has ever done!
Unlike most other One:12 Collective releases, in which the contents spilt into three groupings, this one does it in to two. This isn't to say they got stingy on the accessories, they just spread them out better.
On top of the normal, stern look that he is packaged with, he is also packaged with fists. So, that right out of the box, he can punch Nazis in the fucking face!
And, while he stands well enough on his own, from here on in, I'll mostly be using the stand that he comes with. It still annoys me that they added Indiana Jones and the to the original title, Raiders of the Lost Arc. Yes, that means that the stand reads Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc, which is fucking stupid. Yes, yes I know the theory is so that if goes better, title wise, with all the sequels, but it is still dumb. Anywho, enough of my pointless rant back to the figure.
He has a gun holster, where you can put his revolver in. But, more on that in a bit.
Shoulder movement is cut off only by his clothing. Elbow movement is very good, with excellent wrist movement.
The waist only moves slightly side to side due to clothing constraint.
His ankles only move a little. Leg and knee articulation are very good. And, while he can't do a Jean Claude Van Damme level splits, he is still capable of doing some nice ones!
Accessories- All of the alternate heads can be swapped between having hair or a hat. These two heads are slightly similar. Though I think I prefer the head he came packaged with, which, honestly is my favorite one overall.
The iconic fedora, which is how most of us will have him displayed looks great. Still, it's a great option that we are able to swap between it and the hairpiece.
You'll need to take off said jacket to be able to put on his satchel. Made from soft goods, its a good looking accessory. Inside you will see that it has some "sheets". This is also a good time to try on one of the other interchangeable hands.
There is a little tab on the left side of his belt, wherein you can hang his rolled up whip.
The torch looks great and has some nice detail. Here I am using it with the open mouth. I'm also using the torch holding hands.
Included are four arrows that enter into a single slot on the torch. Course, you can only use one arrow, cuz one slot! And, be careful not to lose them, as they are really small. I also wish that that the fit was more snug and tight, as the arrow falls off easily. In short, I was hoping for this feature to work better than it actually does.
Next up is the spiderweb, which goes on the back of his jacket. It looks really cool, and bonus, points for having some spider on it!
We also get two extended whips. I honestly have no preference between them. I would have only one that was already posed. And, then have the second one be wired, so that we can pose it.
You'll need to use the whip gripping hands of which there are, of course, a pair. You can also see here that I used another alternate head in the first six pics that are above. This his such a fun choice and might be my second favorite head. Though I am not really sure if it actually is.
You can stash the revolver, which looks great, in the aforementioned holster. That being said, there is no button for the flap over it to close it. He, of course, comes with two hands that can hold the pistol.
The golden idol, itself, looks good, as does the pedestal. The later has some amazing detail. The problem comes from the fact that it is very hard for the idol to stand up on said pedestal. A magnet would have totally solved this issue. The bag of sand works better in this department.
Still, it is fun to, at least try to, reenact this classic moment from the film. You'll need the last pair of gripping hands for this, He does a good job of holding the idol and even better one of holding the bag. While a slightly tighter grip would have been great, it's still quite good, overall.
Final Thoughts- This is a great looking figure. It's fun to pose and play with him. The accessories that comes with him are great. But, some decisions that were made are odd or disappointing, like no wired whip or a way for the idol to stand still and secure on the pedestal, among others.
It still amounts to a worthy addition to a collection, and a must have for fellow Indy fans.
